Jennifer Affleck discussed the possibility of leaving MomTok amid tension with her husband, Zac, and questions about how the group fit with her future plans. But later speculation around the family’s move to Los Angeles did not confirm that she left MomTok. Coverage in 2026 continued to document her work on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, including its Orange County chapter. That television activity is separate from her unconfirmed status in the informal social-media group.
What prompted the original discussion about leaving MomTok?
In a September 2024 recap of the first season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Us Weekly reported that cast member Jessi Ngatikaura said Jen was leaving MomTok because of Zac. The recap also described a conversation in which Jen said a possible plan to attend medical school in New York could limit her ability to take part in MomTok business opportunities. Zac questioned the importance of the group.
Those details are statements and conversations attributed to the show, not independent confirmation of Jen’s private reasons or a formal announcement that she had left. They establish that departure was discussed in the context of competing plans and relationship tension; they do not settle her membership afterward.
Did the Los Angeles move mean Jen left MomTok or the show?
No departure was confirmed in the October 2025 coverage. After Jen was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars, she said she and her family were moving to Los Angeles. Zac said they had a realtor and a team helping them find a home. Us Weekly raised the question of whether she would leave The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives; it did not establish that she was leaving MomTok.

The distinction matters: a family move can prompt questions about future plans, but it is not proof of a group departure. Nor should reporting that asks whether someone will leave a television series be treated as confirmation that they have done so.

The Orange County chapter
In a September 2026 iHeartRadio interview, Jen discussed her role in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County and how she saw herself compared with “Utah Jen.” She said, “I feel like OC Jen is the Jen that — I think it’s just authentic Jen.” Reflecting on her earlier years on the original show, she said, “I feel like OG MomTok, being a part of their group and being a part of the first couple of seasons of that show, you’re seeing me navigate trying to figure out who I am and who I want to be.”
That interview and later spin-off coverage describe continued television activity, not a definitive statement about present membership in MomTok. Hulu’s press coverage and a Us Weekly report on the Orange County spin-off likewise do not resolve that separate question.

MomTok and the Hulu series are not the same thing
MomTok is the informal social-media group discussed by the cast; The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and its Orange County chapter are television productions. Someone’s presence in a show or spin-off does not, by itself, confirm that they remain part of an informal group. The available coverage supports Jen’s continued reality-TV work but does not provide a current direct confirmation from Jen or Zac defining her MomTok status.
