In a preview shown during the September 29, 2024, Sister Wives broadcast, Robyn Brown urged Kody to work on his relationships with his children and told him she was having a hard time not losing respect for him “a little bit.” The exchange was shown outside in the snow; Robyn later added, “Your kids need you.”
What Robyn said to Kody
People reported on September 30, 2024, that the scene was a preview for the following week’s episode. In a confessional, Robyn said, “I was putting pressure on Kody to work on his relationships with his kids.”

During the outdoor conversation, Kody said, “I’m tired of being angry.” Robyn replied, “Oh, I’m having a hard time not losing respect for you a little bit.” Later, she told him, “Your kids need you.” In another confessional, Robyn said she thought Kody should be “camping out on their doorsteps”—her emphatic view of the effort she wanted him to make, not a report that he had done so. What the October 6 episode added
In coverage of the October 6, 2024, episode, E! reported that Robyn connected her concern to her own childhood: after her parents divorced, she said, her biological father was absent. E! also reported that Kody acknowledged he could do more to mend his relationships with his children, while saying he needed to mend his heart first. He described feeling angry and worrying that contact could bring accusations. Those are the participants’ accounts as reported by E!, not independent confirmation of the family’s history or of how any attempted reconciliation unfolded. What the reports establish—and what they do not
The reports present a disagreement about initiative: Robyn wanted Kody to reach out to his children, while Kody described anger and apprehension about doing so. The coverage does not independently establish the full history of the estrangement or include the children’s perspectives.
