Kevin Spacey said in November 2025 that he had no home of his own and was staying in hotels and Airbnbs while pursuing work. He later clarified that he did not mean he was homeless in the colloquial sense. His remarks describe a lack of a permanent home of his own, not a claim that he was living on the street.
What did Kevin Spacey say about his housing?
In an interview with The Telegraph reported by TheWrap on November 20, 2025, Spacey said he was going wherever work was available and staying in hotels and Airbnbs. He attributed his situation to high costs over the previous seven years and little income. “I’m going where the work is. I literally have no home, that’s what I’m attempting to explain,” he said. TheWrap’s report covered the initial remarks.
Three days later, Spacey responded publicly. He said it would be “disingenuous” to let people believe he was homeless “in the colloquial sense,” noting that people living on the street or in cars faced circumstances he was not claiming for himself. He described himself as having no home of his own and said he had been working throughout 2025. Us Weekly quoted his clarification on November 23, 2025.
Why did he lose his Baltimore home?
Realtor.com reported that Spacey’s Baltimore property was foreclosed on in 2024 after he defaulted on mortgage payments. Its November 2025 account also described the home as worth $5.6 million. Those property and financial details are Realtor.com’s reporting; they should not be taken as a separate court-record review. Read Realtor.com’s account of the foreclosure.

How do the legal cases relate to the story?
The housing remarks came amid years of legal proceedings and career disruption, but the different cases had different outcomes and should not be treated as one finding. Anthony Rapp’s 2017 allegation concerned an encounter in 1986. In 2022, a New York jury found Spacey not liable in Rapp’s civil case. In 2023, Spacey was acquitted of all nine criminal charges tried in London. Those results do not determine every separate allegation.
In March 2026, three men settled their London civil claims against Spacey before trial. Spacey denied the allegations. The Associated Press reported that settlement terms were confidential and that the court stayed further proceedings on the agreed terms; the settlement was not a trial finding of liability. The court order, as quoted by AP, said: “By consent, it is ordered that all further proceedings against the defendant in these actions be stayed upon the terms set out in this order and in the confidential schedule.” The Associated Press reported on the settlement on March 19, 2026.
