She clarified that she meant he was good-looking—not that she was attracted to him.
What prompted Sara Haines’s comment?
The exchange came during a Hot Topics discussion of Jack Schlossberg’s social-media post asking whether Usha Vance was “way hotter” than Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Us Weekly reported that the conversation turned to Haines’s own father, Dick Haines. Us Weekly
What did Haines say about her father?
Haines said, “My dad’s hot and I say it all the time.” Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin replied, “Your dad is hot,” and Haines reiterated, “My dad’s hot. He just is.” Us Weekly
When the wording drew attention, Haines clarified: “No, because I’m not blind. I’m not attracted to him, he’s just hot. I can see him.” In context, she was describing her father as attractive, not expressing romantic or sexual interest. Scary Mommy

Was it really four times, and why did the clip spread?
A video listing published January 22 described Haines as calling her dad hot four times, as co-hosts and the studio audience laughed. Video listing Yahoo’s January 30 follow-up said The View producer Brian Teta recalled the four repetitions, helping make the wording itself the defining detail of the exchange. Yahoo
The reaction was mixed: some social-media users found the phrasing strange or uncomfortable, while others related to growing up with a conventionally attractive father. Scary Mommy noted that “handsome” or “good-looking” might have landed differently than “hot.” Scary Mommy The contrast between a casual family observation and repeated use of “hot” on live daytime television helps explain why the moment drew notice.
