Forbes’ profile showed Kanye West’s net worth at an estimated $400 million on October 3, 2026. Its rounded estimates before and after the Adidas split imply a decline of about $1.6 billion—but that is a change in estimated wealth, not proof that $1.6 billion left his bank account. West later shared a much higher $2.77 billion valuation claim, attributed to Eton Venture Services.
What is Kanye West’s net worth?
Forbes’ live profile displayed an estimate of $400 million as of October 3, 2026. Forbes says its calculation includes cash, real estate, the value of West’s music catalog, and a 5% stake in Skims. It also valued the Adidas deal at $1.5 billion and said his fortune was $400 million without it. Forbes’ profile is an estimate, not an audited statement of West’s finances.
How much did Kanye West lose when Adidas dropped Yeezy?
Forbes’ valuation, as reported by The Independent, was about $2 billion before the Adidas split and $400 million afterward. Subtracting those rounded figures implies an estimated decline of roughly $1.6 billion. It does not establish a cash loss of that amount, nor does it isolate every factor affecting West’s finances. The comparison is between estimates, not a disclosed accounting of money he personally lost. The Independent’s January 24, 2025 report describes both the earlier comparison and West’s separate valuation claim.
Why Adidas ended the partnership
On October 25, 2022, Adidas said it was terminating its partnership with Ye after what it called antisemitic and other hate-speech comments and actions. The company said it would end Yeezy-branded production and stop payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas wrote, “adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech.” It also said it owned the design rights to products under the partnership. Adidas’ termination statement sets out the company’s stated rationale and actions.

What the Adidas figures do—and do not—mean
Adidas disclosed substantial business effects from ending the partnership and later selling remaining Yeezy stock. These are company figures, not measures of West’s personal loss or income.
| Figure | What it describes | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| Up to €250 million | Adidas’ expected short-term negative impact on its own 2022 net income after ending the partnership. | Adidas, October 25, 2022 |
| About €500 million | Year-over-year sales drag in 2023 from discontinuing Yeezy. | Adidas, full-year 2023 results, January 31, 2024 |
| About €750 million | Net sales from two drops of remaining Yeezy products in 2023. | Adidas, full-year 2023 results, January 31, 2024 |
| About €300 million | Incremental operating profit from remaining Yeezy stock sales in the second and third quarters of 2023. | Adidas, full-year 2023 results, January 31, 2024 |
The sales and profit figures measure different things: the estimated sales drag from discontinuing Yeezy is not the same as revenue from selling remaining inventory, and neither figure is a payment to West. Adidas’ full-year 2023 results report the company’s figures.

Why did West claim a $2.77 billion net worth?
On January 24, 2025, West shared a claim that his net worth was $2.77 billion, attributing it to Eton Venture Services. The reported basis was his music portfolio and ownership of the Yeezy mark. The available report does not establish that this figure was independently verified or calculated on the same basis as Forbes’ estimate. It should therefore be treated as West’s shared valuation claim, not as a comparable audited measurement or a current Forbes figure.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Kanye West still a billionaire?
The answer depends on which valuation is being cited. Forbes’ profile displayed $400 million on October 3, 2026, below the billionaire threshold; West’s 2025 post shared the much higher Eton-attributed $2.77 billion claim. Because those figures come from different sources and their methods are not shown to be directly comparable, the claim should be attributed rather than treated as a settled financial fact.
