They involve separate incidents and legal matters: a 2023 civil complaint over an alleged 2020 assault, five additional allegations reported by Rolling Stone in 2024, and a separate New York lawsuit filed by Eric Poff in 2025. Pierce has denied misconduct. The allegations have not been established as criminal guilt or civil liability in the sources cited here.
What the reports describe
The accounts should not be treated as one case or as a single fixed count of accusers. The McGarrigle matter was a civil lawsuit that was reported settled in 2024. The five accounts in Rolling Stone’s 2024 investigation were additional allegations described in reporting. Poff’s 2025 lawsuit is a separate case. A settlement is not a verdict or an admission, and the available reporting does not establish that any of these allegations were proven in court.

What Pierce and the production company said
After the McGarrigle allegations became public in 2023, Pierce denied them in a statement reported by the Los Angeles Times: “I can’t begin to explain how hurt and disgusted I am by these totally untrue allegations.” Buckingham Television, the production company behind We’re Here, said: “The investigation concluded that there was insufficient evidence to support these allegations.” That was the company’s account of its own investigation, not a court ruling. When Rolling Stone reported Poff’s lawsuit in February 2025, it said Pierce’s response was not immediately available. The article recalled his earlier denials; it did not report a new response to that filing. Rolling Stone

How to interpret the reported number of accusers
Counts depend on which reports and dates are being counted. Rolling Stone described five additional allegations in its 2024 investigation. Its 2025 article said Poff’s lawsuit brought the number of men who had accused Pierce to seven, using the scope of its own coverage. The Los Angeles Times reported in 2023 that McGarrigle had filed a report with Ruston police in November 2022 and quoted a detective then describing it as an “ongoing investigation.” That is a historical status reported in 2023, not confirmation of the investigation’s current status. The cited sources do not establish a current police status or any later criminal proceeding. Los Angeles Times
