June 6, 2025, was the North American theatrical opening of DAN DA DAN: EVIL EYE, a cinema event that brought the start of the Evil Eye arc and the first three episodes of season two to the big screen. It was a one-time release date, not an upcoming 2026 announcement.
What the June 6 event included
GKIDS described DAN DA DAN: EVIL EYE as the global theatrical premiere of the anime’s second season. The program paired the opening of the Evil Eye arc, which begins at the end of season one, with the first three episodes of season two and an exclusive interview with co-directors Fuga Yamashiro and Abel Gongora. North American theaters screened it in Japanese and English-dubbed versions, with D-BOX available at select theaters, according to GKIDS’s May 15, 2025 announcement.
The new story follows Momo and Okarun to a hot-springs town connected to Jiji’s family, where they investigate a mystery and encounter strange locals. Yukinobu Tatsu created the original manga; Science SARU produced the anime, with Yamashiro and Gongora co-directing season two.
Release dates varied by region
June 6 was the North American date, not the worldwide opening day. GKIDS’s 2025 announcement listed this regional schedule:

Where the manga fits
For readers who want to explore the source material, VIZ’s official Dandadan series page lists manga volumes and chapter access. The June theatrical program draws on the manga, but the sources cited here do not identify which volume corresponds to the film’s exact episode coverage.
GKIDS said in an April 3, 2025 season-two announcement that the manga had recently passed 10 million sales. That is the figure GKIDS reported in 2025, not a current total or an independently verified sales audit: GKIDS’s announcement.
