Spoilers for Wednesday Season 2. Isaac Night is the real identity of Slurp, the zombie Pugsley brings back to life. Played by Owen Painter, Isaac is Francoise’s brother, Tyler’s uncle, a telekinetic “Da Vinci,” and Gomez Addams’s former Nevermore friend. His return ties together an old experiment, a plan involving Tyler’s Hyde powers, and the origin of Thing.
Who is Isaac Night in Wednesday Season 2?
Isaac first appears as Slurp, a zombie revived by Pugsley’s electrical abilities. The name Slurp is the character’s initial identity; the later reveal is that he is Isaac Night. Netflix’s Season 2 cast guide identifies Owen Painter as the actor behind the character and describes Isaac as brilliant and arrogant.
Isaac is also a telekinetic outcast known as a “Da Vinci.” He is Francoise’s brother and therefore Tyler’s uncle. Before the events of the series, he and Gomez were friends while they were students at Nevermore.
What happened between Isaac and Gomez at Nevermore?
Isaac once tried to cure Francoise’s Hyde condition with a machine he built at Nevermore. He recruited his roommate Gomez to provide power, but did not tell him that the experiment would kill him. Morticia saved Gomez and broke the machine; Isaac died in the explosion.

The episode’s history gives Isaac’s later actions a personal motive, but it does not make his choices harmless. The machine put Gomez in mortal danger, and Isaac’s return brings another dangerous plan into the family’s life.
Why does Isaac want Tyler’s Hyde powers?
After returning as Slurp and reuniting with Francoise, Isaac becomes part of a plan involving Tyler. Tyler is led to believe the machine will keep his mother alive. In reality, Francoise wants to use it on Tyler to remove his Hyde abilities, an effort intended to save his life. As co-creator Alfred Gough put it, “She always wanted to save her son.”

That motive does not erase the betrayal Tyler feels: the plan would take away his Hyde powers and cost Francoise her life. Netflix’s Season 2 ending explainer describes the scheme and its consequences.
How is Isaac connected to Thing?
The finale reveals that Thing was Isaac’s severed right hand. Morticia cut it off before Isaac died, and the hand reanimated to become the disembodied companion known as Thing. The reveal links Isaac’s past at Nevermore to a character who has been part of the Addams family throughout the series.
