That works for a mobile live session; Streamlabs does not document an iPhone-only setup as a dependable way to broadcast 24/7. If you mean an always-on stream, plan for power, connectivity, and YouTube’s archive limits—or use a cloud service designed to keep uploaded video streaming.
What “continuous” means on an iPhone
There are two different goals: keeping an ordinary live session running for an extended period, or maintaining an unattended, always-on 24/7 broadcast. Streamlabs Mobile documents a phone-based Go Live workflow, but does not promise that an iPhone running the app will sustain a 24/7 stream. A phone-based session depends on the device, power, network, and app remaining available.
YouTube’s archive guidance adds an important limit: streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream that exceeds 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a recording, keep a separate copy rather than relying on the live archive.
Before you go live
- Install Streamlabs Mobile from the iOS App Store and sign in with a Streamlabs ID or your preferred streaming account.
- Allow the app to access the iPhone’s camera and microphone if you plan to use them.
- Enable YouTube live streaming for your account before the session. Streamlabs says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours and may require phone verification, so do this ahead of your planned broadcast.
- Use a dependable upload connection with bandwidth headroom. YouTube warns that a connectivity disruption can break a stream; a strong connection reduces risk but cannot guarantee continuity.
- Start with a fully charged phone, keep a charger nearby, close apps you do not need, and turn on Do Not Disturb to reduce interruptions from notifications or calls.
Set up and start a YouTube stream in Streamlabs Mobile
- Sign in and connect YouTube. In Streamlabs Mobile, open Account Settings and connect the YouTube account you want to broadcast to. Complete any YouTube verification or live-stream activation steps shown for that account.
- Prepare a scene. From the main menu, open Scenes and create a scene or choose a premade layout. A scene controls the presentation; it is not required for a basic stream.
- Review the stream settings. Open Streaming Settings and review video, audio, camera, and screen-capture choices. Choose a camera stream for a live camera view, or screen sharing to broadcast the iPhone display. Select settings appropriate for your connection and the content you are showing.
- Open the Go Live flow. Tap Go Live, select YouTube, and continue to the stream setup.
- Enter the stream details. Add the title, description, and any applicable stream or event details presented in the app.
- Start and verify on YouTube. Tap Go Live to begin. Then check the YouTube destination or live page to confirm that viewers can actually see the broadcast; do not rely only on an in-app live indicator.
Which subscriber rules apply?
The requirements differ by route. Streamlabs’ guidance for broadcasting to YouTube through Streamlabs Mobile says there is no follower limitation for that app workflow. YouTube’s native mobile live-stream help page, by contrast, lists at least 50 subscribers, channel verification, no live restrictions in the previous 90 days, and live streaming turned on. Do not treat the native YouTube app’s subscriber criteria as a universal threshold for the Streamlabs route, or interpret Streamlabs’ statement as removing YouTube account activation requirements.

YouTube also says channels with 50 to 999 subscribers may have audience limits on native mobile live streams, and their archives may be set to private by default. Check the current YouTube guidance for the route you are using.
Limitations and practical workarounds
Long sessions and recordings
YouTube says a stream under 12 hours can be automatically archived; above 12 hours, it may not be captured. For an important long broadcast, make a separate recording if you need a reliable copy. Do not assume that leaving Streamlabs running on the phone guarantees an uninterrupted or archived 24/7 broadcast.

Power and interruptions
Keeping the phone charged, using a charger, closing unnecessary apps, and enabling Do Not Disturb are sensible precautions for a long session, not continuity guarantees. A power bank and compatible cable can provide a convenient backup when wall power is not available, but they do not solve app, device, or network interruptions.
Stream creation or live-status problems
Streamlabs has published a YouTube mobile issue note marked resolved after updates. Its listed workaround for an affected creation flow was to use horizontal orientation or choose an existing broadcast or event. App behavior can change, so update Streamlabs Mobile, try those options if the issue occurs, and verify the resulting stream on YouTube.
