Reports published on February 14, 2022, said Rosario Dawson and Cory Booker had broken up after more than two years together. The timing and explanation came from unnamed sources—not a joint announcement or an on-record breakup statement by either Dawson or Booker.
What was reported about the breakup?
E! News reported on February 14, 2022, that the couple had split after more than two years together. E! said Booker’s office declined to comment. Us Weekly, The Independent, and Entertainment Tonight also published breakup reports that day.
Those accounts relied on sources. The reviewed coverage does not include an on-record statement from Dawson or Booker announcing or explaining the split, so the reported details should not be treated as a confirmed account from the couple.
When did they reportedly separate?
The date the breakup reports appeared is not necessarily when the relationship ended. Marie Claire reported in November 2021 that sources close to the couple said they had decided to break up during the summer of 2021. The same source attributed the difficulty to distance; that was a sourced explanation, not a direct account from Dawson or Booker.

The milestones reported in coverage are distinct:
- Summer 2018: Later coverage said they first met at a political fundraiser. The Independent reported that they reconnected in October 2018; accounts differ on when their romance began.
- March 2019: Dawson publicly confirmed she was dating Booker, according to CBS News.
- Summer 2021: A Marie Claire source placed their decision to split in this period.
- November 2021: Marie Claire reported they were no longer together.
- February 14, 2022: Several outlets published breakup reports; E! said Booker’s office declined comment.
Did they remain friends?
E! and Us Weekly reported that Dawson and Booker remained friends. That detail, like the breakup account, came through sourced coverage rather than a joint statement from the two.
