You can loop a local bhajan playlist on YouTube Live by loading your files into OBS Studio’s VLC Video source, enabling Loop Playlist, and connecting OBS to a live stream created in YouTube Studio. The loop repeats the playlist; it does not keep your computer, power, internet, encoder, or YouTube connection online by itself.
Before you prepare the stream
Confirm live-stream access
YouTube says the channel must be verified and must have had no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. The streamer must be at least 16. Check eligibility in advance so you can address any restriction before preparing the broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.
Use bhajan recordings and artwork you have rights to broadcast
A devotional subject, or the fact that a recording is publicly available on YouTube, does not by itself grant permission to rebroadcast that recording or its artwork. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match may cause YouTube to replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. Even licensed content can be interrupted if the rights owner has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Check YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams; if you have a licence, ask the rights owner about allowlisting your channel.
Decide how viewers should encounter the stream
A YouTube broadcast is the video event viewers watch; a stream is the audio-video transmission connected to it. YouTube’s Live API describes a 24/7 feed use case, but that does not guarantee a desktop encoder session will be fault-proof. For background on the distinction, see YouTube’s explanation of broadcasts and streams.
#1 Best Overall
- [Smooth 4K Ultra HD Playback] This 4K@30Hz HDMI digital media player utilizes H.265/HEVC decoding technology, enabling playback of videos up to 4096×2304 resolution compared to H.264 or 1080P, delivering a clearer and smoother picture.

Plan the audience and archive settings
If the stream is marked made for kids, YouTube disables some live features, including live chat and live chat replay, and disables personalized ads on live streams. Review YouTube’s guidance on restrictions for live streaming and choose the audience setting that accurately reflects the content.
Do not assume a single 24-hour session will produce a complete replay. YouTube’s cited guidance does not establish an archive-duration or full-archive guarantee for such a session. If preserving the programme matters, plan separate recording and archive handling, and verify YouTube’s current behavior before relying on a replay.

- VLC for Kindle plays most local video and audio files, as well as network streams (including adaptive streaming), like the desktop version of VLC.
- VLC for Kindle has a media library for audio and video files, and allows to browse folders directly.
- VLC has support for multi-track audio and subtitles. It supports auto-rotation, aspect-ratio adjustments, hardware acceleration and gestures to control volume.
- It also includes a widget for audio control, supports audio headsets control, cover art and a complete audio media library.
Set up a local OBS and VLC playlist
- Install OBS Studio and VLC. OBS’s VLC source requires VLC to be installed. Match architectures: if you use 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC.
- Create a scene. In OBS, make a scene for this broadcast so you can arrange and preview the content that viewers will receive.
- Add a VLC Video source. Add the source to the scene and load the local media files you have rights to stream. OBS documents this source for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The source can play a playlist and uses VLC libraries for extended media support. See OBS’s Media Sources documentation.
- Set the playlist behavior. Turn on Loop Playlist so playback restarts after the source reaches the end. OBS documents looping as on by default, but verify the setting in your source. Choose whether to leave shuffle off for a predictable devotional sequence or turn it on for randomized playback.
- Check the scene before publishing. Confirm that files play in the intended order, the audio is audible, the image is intentional, and the playlist restarts. Verify the source’s visibility behavior and audio track, then preview the complete scene. A loop setting only controls playback after the playlist ends; it does not prevent all playback or encoder failures.
- Create the YouTube live broadcast. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream using the encoder method. Use the stream settings YouTube provides to connect OBS, inspect the preview and stream-health indicators, and start the broadcast when it is ready. A viewer-facing playlist on YouTube is not a substitute for this live-broadcast setup.
Keep the stream running and recover interruptions
With the local approach, OBS plays the media and sends the encoder stream from your computer. The playlist can repeat indefinitely while the source and encoder keep running, but continuous playback is not the same as guaranteed uptime: the machine, power, network, encoder, or YouTube ingest can fail. Monitor YouTube Studio’s live dashboard for warnings and stream health, and arrange an operator or alerting process that can investigate and recover a dropped stream.
There is no across-the-board computer specification or bandwidth minimum established for every bhajan playlist and encoder configuration. Base equipment and connection choices on the files and settings you actually use, then test the complete scene and stream before relying on it.

Troubleshoot common problems
- VLC Video is missing in OBS: Install VLC, then check that its architecture matches OBS. In particular, 64-bit OBS needs 64-bit VLC for this source.
- The playlist stops at the end: Check that Loop Playlist is enabled on the VLC Video source and watch the source preview to confirm it restarts.
- YouTube interrupts the stream or shows a rights warning: Check YouTube Studio for the warning and resolve the rights issue. For licensed third-party content, contact the rights owner about adding your channel to its Content ID allowlist.
- The stream drops unexpectedly: Check OBS encoder status, local media playback, computer power, network connectivity, and YouTube Studio’s stream-health information. Use your monitoring and recovery plan to restore the broadcast.
- A live feature is unavailable: Check channel access and restrictions, then review the audience setting, including whether the stream is correctly marked as made for kids.
