Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →To stream prerecorded videos on YouTube around the clock without leaving a computer running, use a cloud service that uploads or accepts your video files and sends them to YouTube Live continuously. First make sure your channel can livestream, choose a service that supports continuous prerecorded playback, connect it to YouTube, and arrange monitoring and an archive plan. You remain responsible for the videos’ rights and compliance with YouTube’s rules.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified, has no livestreaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and is eligible to livestream. First-time enablement can take up to 24 hours. YouTube’s general guidance says streamers must be at least 16. See YouTube’s livestreaming eligibility and getting-started guidance.
- Video files you have the right to broadcast, plus a cloud service that explicitly supports YouTube and continuous or 24/7 prerecorded streaming.
- A plan for checking that the stream is actually playing, and for saving a replay if you need one.
For a channel built around documentaries, check the rights to the full film, soundtrack, archival footage, stills, and any third-party clips—not just the main video file. A video that you can watch or upload is not automatically cleared for a continuous public livestream.
Choose a cloud service
YouTube’s encoder guide currently describes Gyre as a cloud-based option for continuous prerecorded-video streaming, and Upstream as a cloud studio for 24/7 live streaming. Those are YouTube directory descriptions, not independent uptime or performance tests. OneStream Live documents a workflow for scheduling prerecorded videos to YouTube 24/7. Check the provider’s current terms before committing: features, limits, and plan requirements can change.
| Service or option | What the cited source describes | Good fit | Check before choosing |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live 24/7 from uploaded videos or a playlist. Each slot streams uploads as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; the first day is free with no card. | A creator who wants a cloud-run YouTube stream without keeping a computer on. | Choose the slot duration and confirm that your files fit the storage available across your active slots. |
| Gyre | YouTube describes it as a cloud tool for continuous prerecorded-video streaming and mentions Full HD and 4K at 30/60 FPS. These are directory descriptions, not independently verified results. | A creator looking for a hosted prerecorded-video 24/7 workflow. | Current price, duration and file limits, support, monitoring, and interruption recovery. |
| Upstream | YouTube describes a cloud studio for 24/7 live video streaming with YouTube integration. | A creator who prefers browser-based setup for continuous streaming. | Whether the current plan supports the prerecorded playlist workflow you need, plus its price, duration, and monitoring limits. |
| OneStream Live | Its Help Center documents selecting prerecorded videos from a device, OneStream storage, or cloud storage, connecting a YouTube channel, and scheduling a 24/7 broadcast. The documented feature requires Enterprise and allows up to 30 days per schedule. | A creator who wants to schedule files from device or connected cloud storage for a bounded run. | Current Enterprise pricing, storage limits, what happens at the 30-day limit, and interruption handling. |
| AJA HELO Plus | YouTube describes its PlayToStream feature as scheduling prerecorded media to YouTube Live without a computer. This is hardware, not a cloud service. | A creator who prefers a physical encoder and does not need cloud hosting. | Hardware cost, media capacity, workflow, and remote monitoring needs. |
For any provider, compare duration caps, supported formats and resolutions, how you build or rotate a playlist, monitoring and recovery, archive options, support, and total cost. The cited descriptions do not establish comparative uptime, so they are not a basis for ranking providers by reliability. YouTube’s directory is at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

Set up a prerecorded 24/7 stream
- Enable livestreaming on YouTube. Verify the channel and check YouTube Studio for any restriction. If this is your first time enabling live streaming, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
- Choose a provider and confirm the limits. Verify YouTube support, the intended 24/7 or continuous workflow, file formats, storage, playlist controls, maximum schedule length, and how interruptions are handled. Do not assume every plan includes the provider’s continuous-stream feature.
- Upload or select your videos. In OneStream Live’s documented workflow, videos can be selected from a computer, OneStream storage, or cloud storage. Other providers may use different upload and playlist steps. Arrange the sequence or rotation you want and check that each video has the correct audio and image.
- Connect the YouTube channel. Follow the provider’s channel-connection flow and select the correct channel. If you are using a separate encoder instead of a hosted workflow, create a stream in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and enter the YouTube Live server URL and stream key in the encoder. YouTube explains this in its encoder setup guide.
- Set the stream details and schedule. Add an accurate title, description, and other stream details, then choose the start time and duration. In OneStream Live’s documented 24/7 feature, the schedule requires Enterprise and can run for at most 30 days. Confirm your chosen provider’s current duration limit and how to restart or renew a schedule.
- Start and verify the live output. Open the YouTube watch page and check both picture and sound. Confirm that the intended video is playing, not a loading screen, frozen frame, or silent feed. Set up a way to notice interruptions and check output throughout the run; a stream that starts successfully can still fail later.
Copyright, policy, and stream presentation
YouTube says all livestream content must follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. It may age-restrict or remove a stream and can restrict a creator’s ability to livestream. Prerecorded video is not exempt: the channel operator is responsible for the rights and policy compliance of what is broadcast. Review YouTube’s livestreaming guidance and its rules before scheduling a film or playlist.
Make the stream’s title and description accurately reflect that it is a continuous broadcast of prerecorded material. Do not imply that a film or event is happening live if it is not. Rights clearance and accurate presentation are separate issues; satisfying one does not guarantee the other.

Plan for interruptions and archives
Monitor the stream, not just the schedule
A schedule or “live” indicator does not prove viewers are receiving usable audio and video. Check the public output and arrange a way to detect a stopped stream, frozen picture, silent audio, or connection and credential failures. YouTube’s tips recommend monitoring audio and video quality during an event; for a continuous channel, make monitoring part of the operating plan.
Know the 12-hour archive boundary
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a single stream longer than 12 hours will be saved as one complete replay. If an archive matters, plan for local or provider-side recording, shorter broadcast segments, or another archive workflow, and verify the details in your own setup. YouTube’s encoder guide covers livestream setup and archiving guidance.

Understand what continuous means
YouTube’s Live Streaming API documentation describes a 24/7 feed as an ongoing broadcast and includes an example of maintaining that broadcast while creating a separate concurrent broadcast. This establishes continuous broadcasting as a supported API use case; it does not guarantee uninterrupted operation by YouTube or a third-party provider. See YouTube Live Streaming API documentation.
Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| The provider cannot start the YouTube stream | The channel is not yet enabled for live streaming, has a restriction, or the provider is connected to the wrong channel. | Check channel eligibility and activation status in YouTube Studio, then verify the connected channel and authorization in the provider. |
| Video is scheduled but viewers see no output | The schedule has not started, the selected file is unavailable, or the provider’s continuous-stream limits have been reached. | Check schedule time and timezone, file availability, provider notifications, and duration or plan limits. |
| Picture is frozen or audio is silent | The source file may have an issue, or playback/output may have stalled after launch. | Inspect the actual YouTube watch page, check the source file’s audio and video, and use the provider’s restart or recovery controls if available. |
| The stream stops before the intended end | A provider duration cap, expired schedule, authorization failure, or service interruption may have ended it. | Review provider logs and schedule limits, renew or restart the broadcast as needed, and confirm that the YouTube connection remains authorized. |
| No complete replay appears | The broadcast exceeded YouTube’s automatic archive boundary. | For future runs, use a separate recording or divide the broadcast into shorter segments; verify the archive workflow before relying on it. |
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo keeps a YouTube channel live 24/7 from uploaded videos or a playlist: upload your recording, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running, so nothing has to stay on at home. Uploads stream as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for details, or start your free day.
