XSplit Broadcaster is listed at $0 for Free, or $14.99 per month, $59.99 per year, or $119.99 once for Premium on XSplit’s purchase comparison. XSplit’s separate Broadcaster page lists Premium lifetime at $199.99, however, so confirm the amount on the checkout page before buying. Price is only one part of a 24/7 setup: XSplit runs on a local Windows computer, and the available product information does not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
XSplit Broadcaster plans and prices
The figures below are those shown on XSplit’s official purchase comparison. Its Broadcaster product page lists the same monthly and yearly amounts but a different lifetime amount.
| Plan | Displayed price | Terms relevant to a continuous stream |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Personal use only; up to 720p without a watermark, higher resolution with a watermark; limit of four scenes. |
| Premium monthly | $14.99/month | Monthly billing; Premium features and commercial use. |
| Premium yearly | $59.99/year ($5/month equivalent) | Yearly subscription. Check renewal terms at checkout. |
| Premium lifetime | $119.99 once on the purchase comparison; $199.99 on the Broadcaster page | Official XSplit pages conflict. Verify the current amount before purchase. |
XSplit describes the upgrade as: “Start free, then upgrade when you need Premium features, higher-resolution output, or commercial use.” That is XSplit’s guidance, not proof that every 24/7 stream requires Premium. A personal stream at or below 720p may fit the Free tier’s listed resolution and watermark terms; a business or monetized broadcast should not assume the personal-use license permits commercial use.
Which XSplit plan fits your stream?
Free: a limited-cost way to check the workflow
Free may be sufficient if the stream is personal, uses no more than four scenes, and its output is 720p or lower. Above 720p, XSplit says the Free tier adds a watermark. Those limits matter for a documentary channel where a visible watermark or lower output resolution would be unacceptable.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Premium: for higher output, commercial use, or paid tools
Premium is the relevant license if you need output above 720p without the Free-tier watermark, more than four scenes, commercial use, or listed paid features such as multistreaming, local streaming, audio source, or stream delay. These features affect licensing and production options; they do not establish that Broadcaster can operate unattended around the clock.
What a 24/7 XSplit setup requires
XSplit Broadcaster runs on a local computer, so the computer, power and network connection must remain available while it is streaming. XSplit publishes Windows 10 64-bit, 8 GB RAM and 250 MB storage among its requirements. It gives 500 kbps as a lowest-settings minimum and recommends 5 Mbps upload for HD quality. These are vendor-published baselines, not a qualification for 24/7 workloads or a guarantee from your internet provider.

Before the first broadcast, YouTube Live must be enabled for a verified channel; XSplit’s setup guidance says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours. Plan that activation ahead rather than treating it as a last-minute step.
No retrieved XSplit material guarantees a particular uptime or says Broadcaster has been tested for unattended 24/7 service. Treat continuous operation as something you must plan and monitor, not as an outcome promised by the license. YouTube’s encoder tips recommend ongoing checks of audio and video quality and verification of local archive integrity.

Plan for YouTube’s archive and DVR limits
YouTube Help says a stream under 12 hours can be automatically archived. If it exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. YouTube also warns that DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. Do not rely on one continuous 24-hour broadcast to produce a complete replay or uninterrupted rewind experience. If you need a dependable copy, make a local archive and check that the recording is intact.

Costs and checks before you commit
- Compare the license with the use case: Free is personal-use-only, limited to four scenes and has a watermark above 720p.
- For Premium, compare the monthly, yearly and lifetime figures carefully; the two official XSplit pages disagree on lifetime pricing, and yearly renewal terms should be checked at checkout.
- Budget separately for the local computer, power, network continuity and monitoring needed by a computer-based broadcast. The available XSplit figures do not establish a total 24/7 operating cost.
- If relying on YouTube replays, account for the 12-hour archive and DVR cautions; use and verify a local backup when the recording matters.
Troubleshooting a planned continuous stream
- Free output shows a watermark: XSplit lists watermark-free Free output only up to 720p. Lower the output to that limit or evaluate Premium if higher-resolution watermark-free output is required.
- The intended commercial stream may not fit Free: XSplit labels Free for personal use only. Confirm the applicable license before using the broadcast for business or monetized purposes.
- First broadcast cannot go live: Check that YouTube Live is enabled and the channel is verified. XSplit says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
- The stream drops or the picture and sound degrade: Check that the local computer, power and connection remain available, and follow YouTube’s recommendation to monitor audio and video continuously. Published minimums do not guarantee stable 24/7 performance.
- A long broadcast has no complete YouTube replay or rewind: Streams beyond 12 hours may not be archived, and DVR may be limited or unavailable. Use a local archive and verify it rather than assuming YouTube captured the whole stream.
