Spoilers: This guide introduces the Season 3 cast and their roles without revealing finale outcomes. Netflix’s final season has six episodes and brings returning contestants, investigators, guards and the people running the game into a last conflict.
Who is in the Squid Game Season 3 cast?
Netflix Tudum’s cast guide, published June 27, 2025, lists 15 principal cast entries. The ensemble includes players with debts, family ties or urgent needs, as well as people trying to expose or control the competition. The guide identifies player numbers where applicable; characters without a stated number are left unnumbered here.
See Netflix Tudum’s official Season 3 cast guide for its full character reference.
The central conflict: Gi-hun and the Front Man
Lee Jung-jae as Gi-hun (Player 456)
Gi-hun survived the original competition, but survival has left him with remorse rather than relief. After the Season 2 rebellion fails, he remains determined to bring down the game. Creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk described Season 3’s main storyline as focusing on “what Gi-hun can and will do after all his efforts fail.” That is the creator’s framing of the season, not a neutral account of every character’s motives.

Lee Byung-hun as the Front Man

Their conflict is also a contest over belief and control. Lee Byung-hun said of his character, “For the Front Man, he’s not really interested in whether Gi-hun dies or lives.” The comment reflects the actor’s interpretation of the Front Man.
Players and what brings them into the game
Players shaped by debt and financial harm

- Jo Yuri as Jun-hee (Player 222): A pregnant player facing hardship after trusting the wrong person and suffering the consequences of a bad investment.

- Kang Ha-neul as Dae-ho (Player 388): A competitor Gi-hun initially sees as a friend. Dae-ho’s actions during the Season 2 rebellion make that relationship more complicated.

Who are the villains in Squid Game Season 3?
The Front Man is the clearest central antagonist in the cast guide: he is a former winner and organizer who tries to stop Gi-hun from dismantling the game. The guide also identifies Nam-gyu’s bullying as a defining behavior among contestants. Other characters occupy less simple positions: some are competitors, some are allies or investigators, and others have motives tied to survival, family or urgent need. Calling every contestant a villain would flatten those differences—and a difficult backstory does not erase harmful conduct.

Why the cast’s relationships matter
The season’s ensemble can be read through three overlapping lines of conflict: Gi-hun’s effort to end the game, the Front Man’s effort to retain control, and the contestants’ competing needs and relationships. Jun-ho and Woo-seok pursue the broader goal of ending the system from outside its player group. Inside the game, family ties such as Geum-ja and Yong-sik’s, and complicated connections such as Gi-hun and Dae-ho’s, shape how individual choices affect others.
Netflix’s official franchise coverage calls Season 3 the final season and lists six episodes. Lee Jung-jae described the series’ message this way: “It tells us that no matter what unfortunate things come our way, you have to keep living.” That is the actor’s perspective on the story, rather than a plot summary. The official hub is at Netflix Tudum’s Squid Game page.
