What does “Astra Streaming” refer to?
The name alone does not identify a verified service connected to YouTube creator payments. One product called DataStax Astra Streaming is a software event-streaming product; that does not establish a connection to YouTube channels, creator earnings, or GST invoices. Do not assume Astra Streaming is AdSense or a Google service.
If you received a document or payment notice using this name, check the legal name of the issuer, the account or contract it relates to, and the payment records before treating it as a creator invoice. The available information does not establish that Astra Streaming issues invoices to Indian channel owners.
How YouTube Partner Program earnings are paid
YouTube states that “AdSense for YouTube is Google’s programme through which creators in the YouTube Partner Programme get paid.” Finalized earnings are added to the YouTube payments account during the following month; payment timing is subject to the applicable threshold and any holds. This describes the YouTube payment channel. It does not by itself determine what tax document a creator must issue or how the creator must report income in India.
Does Google require you to send a GST invoice?
Google’s official YouTube Help page asks, “Do I need to send my invoices to Google and should it include the VAT/GST identification number?” Its answer says: “Google does not require you to send invoices, however if it’s mandatory in your country to send us invoices please find your contracting entity details here and submit tax information to the relevant entity.” Read the current Check your AdSense account type page and use the contracting entity details associated with your own account.
That is Google’s invoice policy, not a decision on whether Indian GST law requires you to issue an invoice. The source does not establish that every Indian creator must invoice Google, that no Indian creator needs to, or that a particular payment is an export of services.
What information belongs on a GST invoice?
When GST law requires a tax invoice, the relevant particulars are governed by the applicable rules. CBIC’s GST invoice FAQ outlines information such as supplier and recipient details where applicable, the supplier’s GSTIN, a unique consecutive invoice number and date, description of the service, value, and tax particulars where applicable. The exact requirements and exceptions depend on the transaction and the applicable rules.

Do not treat every payment statement as a GST tax invoice. A platform statement or earnings record may document a payment without being the creator’s tax invoice. GST rules also provide for different document types, including a bill of supply in applicable cases; the document must reflect the actual transaction and legal requirements.
Check documents against the right counterparty
Google’s invoice guidance concerns invoices a creator may be required to send to the relevant contracting entity. Separately, Google’s India GST guidance explains tax on purchases from Google; it is not a ruling on GST for creator earnings. See Google’s GST guidance for that purchase context.

- The issuer’s legal name and whether it matches the contracting entity shown for your account.
- The payment period and amount, and whether the document is a platform earnings statement or a tax invoice.
- Whether the GSTIN and other tax particulars are present when applicable.
- Whether the document corresponds to the actual transaction and your account’s payment records.
What an individual creator still needs to establish
The cited platform guidance and invoice rules do not decide an individual channel owner’s GST registration requirement, supply classification, place of supply, tax treatment, or return obligations. Those conclusions depend on facts not supplied by a platform’s payment statement alone. Do not rely on a general claim that all AdSense income has one GST treatment; ask a GST practitioner to assess your specific facts and documents.

Keep the platform’s payment records and any invoices you issue in an orderly recordkeeping system. An invoice book may help with manual recordkeeping, but buying one does not determine whether you need to register, meet other invoicing requirements, or file returns.
