To troubleshoot an IRL Pro YouTube stream that is out of sync, first identify where the mismatch begins: in the phone’s capture, the receiver preview, YouTube’s live player, or only the saved replay. Then test the audio route—especially Bluetooth—and investigate transport or playback conditions only if the earlier checks point there. These steps form a practical diagnostic workflow; they are not a verified, official IRL Pro repair procedure.
Find where the audio goes out of sync
Compare the same moment across the stages you can access: the phone’s local capture, the receiving software’s preview, YouTube’s live playback, and the archived replay after the broadcast. Note whether the mismatch is already present at the phone or appears later, and whether it stays constant or worsens over time. This comparison helps narrow the stage responsible; the available sources do not publish a validated, official decision tree for IRL Pro-to-YouTube lip sync.
- Mismatch in the phone capture: focus first on the phone’s microphone and audio route.
- Phone capture looks aligned, receiver preview does not: investigate the audio route and receiver or transport timing.
- Receiver preview looks aligned, but YouTube live playback does not: compare playback across viewers or devices and consider network and player behavior.
- Only the replay is affected: compare it with the live player before changing capture settings; the problem may be specific to the archived version.
These are diagnostic clues, not proof of a particular cause. A viewer’s playback conditions can differ from what the creator sees in a receiver preview.
Test the phone’s audio route first
If the phone is connected to Bluetooth earbuds, a headset, or another Bluetooth audio device, disconnect it and repeat a short test using the phone’s built-in audio path or a compatible wired connection. StreamerSentinel’s third-party IRL Pro receiver troubleshooting guide lists Bluetooth as a check for “Audio out of sync” and says it can introduce variable lag. Treat this as a controlled test, not a guaranteed fix: the guide is not official IRL Pro documentation, and Bluetooth will not explain a mismatch that starts in the encoder, receiver, or YouTube player.

If your setup needs an external microphone, a compatible wired USB-C lavalier microphone may be worth testing instead of a Bluetooth audio path. Check that the microphone and connector work with your phone and app. This is an application of the Bluetooth-lag guidance, not a tested product recommendation.
Check SRT or RTMP only when transport is a likely factor
A third-party IRL Pro setup guide describes broadcasting over RTMP and SRT. It recommends that the protocol and URL selected in the dashboard match the ones configured in the app. If the feed degrades while moving, it suggests switching from RTMP to SRT; if SRT is already in use, it suggests lowering the bitrate. These steps target transport stability, not every audio-sync problem. Change one setting at a time and compare another short test.

If you use SRT, adjust latency cautiously
StreamerSentinel recommends 2000 ms as a starting point for SRT in its own receiver workflow and suggests raising it to 3000–4000 ms if cellular drops occur. For its “Audio out of sync” case, it separately suggests lowering latency. These are that vendor’s workflow-specific recommendations, not universal IRL Pro defaults or official YouTube settings. If you test a change, record the original value and compare a short broadcast before making another adjustment.
Do not increase SRT latency reflexively. It adds delay in the transport path and can make audience interaction less immediate. SRT transport latency and YouTube’s viewer latency are separate controls at different stages of the stream.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
Understand what YouTube latency can—and cannot—fix
YouTube defines stream latency as “the delay between your camera capturing an event and the event being displayed to viewers.” Its documentation explains that lower latency leaves the player with less read-ahead buffer, which can increase viewer buffering; network congestion can also delay a stream even when its average bitrate is sustainable. Latency affects how quickly viewers see the event and the tradeoff between interaction and buffering. It is not a documented lip-sync offset, so changing it should not be presented as a direct audio/video sync correction.
YouTube describes normal, low, and ultra-low latency for supported encoder workflows. Its Help page says webcam and mobile streams are always set up for interactivity, and creators cannot select a live latency setting for those streams. Confirm which YouTube ingest path your IRL Pro setup uses before following Control Room instructions for an encoder workflow.

Troubleshoot by symptom
| What you observe | What to test next | What the test can tell you |
|---|---|---|
| Sync changes when Bluetooth is connected | Repeat the same short test with Bluetooth disconnected and use the phone’s built-in or compatible wired audio path. | If the result changes, Bluetooth may be contributing variable lag; it does not establish that Bluetooth is the only cause. |
| The stream degrades while moving or on cellular data | Check that the app and dashboard use the same protocol and URL. If on RTMP, test SRT; if already on SRT, test a lower bitrate. | This checks transport stability. It does not guarantee a lip-sync correction. |
| Cellular drops occur on an SRT receiver workflow | Consider the receiver vendor’s suggested latency adjustment, changing one variable at a time. | The published 2000 ms starting point and 3000–4000 ms adjustment apply to StreamerSentinel’s workflow, not to every IRL Pro configuration. |
| Only YouTube playback appears out of sync | Compare another viewer or device and check whether the archived replay has the same mismatch. | This helps distinguish a player or viewer-specific issue from one present earlier in the stream. |
| No stage clearly identifies the cause | Save a short test, note the phone and audio route, selected protocol, receiver preview, and whether the live player and replay differ; then share those details with the relevant app, receiver, or platform support. | The available guidance does not establish an official IRL Pro audio-offset control or a single correction procedure for this case. |
