How to Use Larix Broadcaster with a USB-C Ethernet Adapter for YouTube Live

A wired phone connection can change the network path for Larix Broadcaster, but adapter compatibility and stream stability depend on the complete setup. Here’s how to configure and test it.

You can use Larix Broadcaster to send a YouTube Live feed from a phone connected to Ethernet through a USB-C adapter, provided the phone and adapter support that connection. A wired link changes how the phone reaches the network; it does not guarantee a stable broadcast. Check compatibility and test the complete setup before an event.

Before you connect: check phone and adapter compatibility

Confirm that your specific phone and operating system support USB Ethernet, and that the adapter is recognized by your device. Apple documents USB-to-Ethernet adapter connections on USB-C iPhones, while warning that accessories or cables that do not comply with USB-C standards may not work as expected (Apple Support, published September 18, 2026). This does not certify every third-party adapter, nor does it establish compatibility for Android phones.

Compare candidate adapters against your handset and OS, Ethernet link speed and chipset support, power requirements, pass-through charging needs, and cable arrangement. The available guidance does not verify a particular adapter model as universally compatible. If your setup needs a hub or power pass-through, verify that exact combination separately.

Connect Ethernet to the phone

  1. Connect the USB-C Ethernet adapter to the phone.
  2. Connect an Ethernet cable from the adapter to your router or wired network.
  3. Check that the phone recognizes the network connection before configuring the broadcast. If you need a hub, charger, or pass-through power, confirm that the phone and adapter work together in that arrangement.

A wired connection cannot fix upstream congestion, a poor router, insufficient upload capacity, or problems at YouTube’s ingest service. Larix’s adaptive-bitrate capability, described in its current Android and iOS listings, is not a guarantee of a stable result on a specific network (Google Play listing, updated August 11, 2026; App Store listing).

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Prepare YouTube Live and keep your stream key private

  1. Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create or select the stream you plan to use.
  2. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream. YouTube’s encoder guidance directs users to enter these values in their encoder, start the encoder, and verify the feed (YouTube Help).
  3. If the account has never enabled live streaming, allow time for activation: YouTube says first-time enablement may take up to 24 hours.

Treat the stream key like a password. Do not share it or show it in a recording or screenshot; anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your stream.

Configure Larix Broadcaster

  1. In Larix, add a connection and open its connection settings.
  2. Enter the YouTube server URL and stream key in the Connection URL field as directed by Larix’s documentation. YouTube’s server URL and key together form the destination information Larix needs.
  3. Select video-plus-audio mode and choose a bitrate appropriate for your video and available upload capacity. The referenced setup guidance does not prescribe one bitrate for every phone, resolution, or network, so do not treat a single number as universally suitable.

Larix Broadcaster is listed by YouTube as a mobile encoder for iOS and Android. The app listings also describe RTMP/RTMPS and adaptive-bitrate support. Those capabilities do not establish that a particular Ethernet adapter works with your phone or guarantee a stable stream.

Preflight the complete setup

  • Start Larix and confirm that YouTube receives the feed in the Live Control Room before the real event.
  • Check picture, sound, orientation, and connection status. Confirm that audio is present and that the framing is correct for the broadcast.
  • Test with the exact phone, OS, adapter, cable, network, power arrangement, and Larix settings you intend to use. A test with different hardware does not establish that the event setup will work.
  • For a time-sensitive broadcast, do not rely on an untested hub, pass-through charger, adapter, or network change.

What Ethernet can—and cannot—do for stability

Ethernet removes the phone’s Wi-Fi link from the network path, which may suit a location with a reliable wired network. It does not ensure that the rest of the route has enough upload capacity or that YouTube will receive the feed without interruption. No universal adapter compatibility or guaranteed stability outcome is established for this setup. Android support in particular depends on the device and OS; Apple’s iPhone guidance should not be generalized to Android.

Larix’s USB camera feature is separate from USB Ethernet support. It is not evidence that Larix controls or validates an Ethernet adapter.

Troubleshooting

  • The phone does not recognize Ethernet: Confirm USB Ethernet support for that exact phone and OS, check that the adapter and cable comply with USB-C standards, and try the setup without an unverified hub or power arrangement.
  • YouTube does not receive a feed: Recheck the server URL and stream key in Larix, confirm that the correct stream is selected in YouTube Studio, and verify that live streaming is enabled for the account.
  • The picture arrives but audio does not: Check that Larix is set to video-plus-audio mode and verify the phone’s audio input and levels before going live.
  • The feed still drops over Ethernet: Check the upstream connection, router, and available upload capacity. A wired phone connection cannot resolve congestion or an ingest-side problem, and adaptive bitrate is not a guarantee.

Or let it run in the cloud

For a YouTube channel that should stay live from uploaded videos, StreamNeo is a different option from a phone-and-Larix broadcast: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It does not stream from a camera.
