Larix Broadcaster Keeps Asking for Camera Permission During a Prerecorded YouTube Stream

A recurring Larix camera prompt during a prerecorded YouTube stream may signal a mismatch between a camera-capture encoder and a file-playback workflow. Here’s what the documentation establishes and what to check next.

If you are sending an existing video file to YouTube, a repeated camera-permission prompt may mean Larix is opening its camera-capture workflow—not that the file needs camera access. Larix is documented as a mobile encoder for live video from a phone’s cameras; the reviewed official materials do not document local prerecorded-file playback. If you intend to stream from the phone’s camera, permission is relevant, but the exact cause of a recurring prompt cannot be identified without your device, operating system, prompt wording, and the steps that trigger it.

First identify what you want Larix to send

There are two different workflows that can look similar once a YouTube stream is set up:

  • Live camera video: Larix captures video from the phone’s camera and sends it to YouTube. Camera permission is relevant to this documented use.
  • A prerecorded file: The encoder must be able to play a local video file or playlist and send that playback as the live program. The reviewed Larix materials describe camera capture and MP4 recording, but do not document local file playout.

So if a prerecorded video is your intended source, granting camera permission is not an established fix. First check whether the encoder you selected explicitly supports file input or playlist playback. Do not assume that a scheduled YouTube event or a camera permission turns Larix into a file player.

If the phone camera is supposed to be live

  1. Check the permission in your phone’s app settings. Look for Larix Broadcaster and check whether camera access is allowed, denied, limited, or blocked. Exact menu names and paths vary by Android or iOS version, so use your device’s current settings rather than following a generic path that may not match your phone.
  2. Note the exact prompt and when it appears. Record the wording and whether it appears on launch, when you choose a camera, or when you start streaming. Also note the phone model and OS version. Those details are necessary to narrow down a recurring prompt.
  3. Confirm the video source. If you switched from file playback to a camera source, Larix may be requesting access for its camera-capture function. If camera access is already allowed but the prompt keeps returning, the available documentation does not establish a specific cause or device-independent fix.
  4. Connect Larix to YouTube using the stream URL and key. In YouTube Studio, obtain the live server URL and stream key, then enter them in the encoder. Treat the stream key as a credential: do not publish or share it.
  5. For a scheduled YouTube event, start the encoder output and wait for the preview. YouTube’s documented workflow is to connect and start the encoder, wait for the preview in Live Control Room, and then click Go live. Scheduling the event alone does not start Larix or supply a prerecorded program.

If you are trying to play a prerecorded video

Use an encoder workflow whose documentation explicitly supports selecting a video file or playlist as the input. Before going live, verify that it can play the intended file continuously, send its output to YouTube using the server URL and stream key, and handle the YouTube Live Control Room steps for your event. The reviewed Larix listings describe live camera capture and recording, not local prerecorded-file playback, so they do not establish that Larix is suitable for this particular source.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

YouTube’s encoder connection instructions cover sending an encoder signal to a live stream; they do not establish that every listed encoder can play a local file. For scheduled streams, the encoder still has to connect and send content before you can see its preview and click Go live.

What the available documentation establishes

  • YouTube’s encoder help lists Larix Broadcaster among mobile encoders and describes it as an app for capturing and streaming live video from mobile cameras.
  • The Google Play listing describes Larix Broadcaster for Android as a live-streaming app with camera capture, camera switching, RTMP and SRT output, YouTube Live as a destination, and MP4 recording. The listing displays an update date of August 11, 2026.
  • The Apple App Store listing describes the iPhone and iPad app as a live video encoder with front- and back-camera capture, live switching, and MP4 recording.
  • A third-party Dacast setup article says Larix requests camera, microphone, and location permissions on first launch. That is not an explanation for a repeated prompt on a particular device or OS.

These descriptions support the distinction between camera capture and file playback. They do not identify why a camera prompt repeats on your particular phone, and they do not show that Larix is defective.

Common cases and what to do

What you see What it suggests Next step
The prompt appears while you are trying to stream a saved video. The workflow may be entering Larix’s documented camera-capture path, while your source is a file. Check the selected encoder’s documented file or playlist support. Do not rely on a camera permission grant as a file-playback fix.
You want to broadcast the phone camera, but Larix asks for access. Camera access is relevant to Larix’s documented camera-capture function. Check Larix’s camera permission in the phone’s app settings and note the permission state and OS version.
Permission appears allowed, but the prompt still returns. The available sources do not establish a particular OS bug, reset, or setting as the cause. Record the exact prompt, device and OS versions, current permission state, and action that triggers it before attempting a device-specific fix.
A scheduled YouTube event is set up, but no live preview appears. A scheduled event does not itself start the encoder output. Confirm Larix is connected with YouTube’s server URL and stream key, start sending, wait for preview in Live Control Room, then click Go live.

YouTube archive and rights checks

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. If your program is longer, do not rely on that automatic archive rule to preserve the full stream.

Whether footage is live camera video or a prerecorded file, make sure you have the necessary rights to the video, music, and other material you broadcast. A successful encoder connection does not establish that you have permission to use the content or that it complies with YouTube’s policies. Check YouTube’s current rules for your channel and content before scheduling a stream.
