If you exported a PRISM Live Studio Desktop Scene Set before reinstalling, import the saved .psc or .json file through Scene Set Management, apply it, then check that each scene’s media and playlist still work. PRISM says Desktop scenes and sources are stored on the device, not tied to your account, so signing in alone is not a documented way to restore them.
Can I get my scenes back by logging in?
Not according to PRISM’s Desktop documentation. Its “Managing Scene Sets” guide says, “The scene and source information is saved locally on your device, not tied to your account.” The guide recommends exporting a Scene Set before logging out so you have a file to restore.
If reinstalling removed the old local app data and you do not have an exported Scene Set, PRISM’s documentation reviewed here does not describe an account-based recovery path for those scenes and sources. Do not assume that logging in on the reinstalled app or on another computer will bring them back.
How to import a PRISM scene collection
- Find your export. Locate the saved
.pscor.jsoncollection file. If you stored it on removable media or in a backup location, make sure it is accessible from the computer running PRISM. - Launch PRISM Live Studio Desktop after reinstalling.
- Open Scene Set Management. Open the active Scene Set dropdown beside the Scenes tab, then choose Scene Set Management.
- Import the local file. Choose Import, then Local, and select your saved collection.
- Apply the imported Scene Set in the management window.
- Inspect the restored scenes. Check each scene’s sources and confirm that referenced local images, videos, audio, and other assets are still present at usable paths. Test the Music Playlist source separately.
PRISM’s FAQ also describes exporting from Menu > List of Scenes > Export or from the Scene Dock. Scene Set Management can also detect and import collections from supported OBS or OBS-based software; for a PRISM backup file, choose the local-file route above.

Which export format should I use?

For a PRISM-focused backup, use .psc. Choose .json when sharing with other streaming software matters. PRISM’s documentation describes both as export formats that can later be imported.
Will my music playlist come back after reinstall?
PRISM documents its Desktop Music Playlist source, including music from local computer files and music supplied through PRISM. However, its guides do not explicitly promise that a Scene Set export preserves every playlist entry, playback option, display property, or local file path through a clean reinstall. Treat playlist restoration as something to verify, not as guaranteed.

If the playlist uses local audio
The audio files must still be available on the computer at paths the reinstalled setup can use. Check the playlist contents and play them in PRISM; if files were moved or removed during reinstall, restore or relocate those files and update the playlist as needed.
If the playlist uses PRISM-provided music
PRISM says this music is licensed or directly contracted for use in broadcasts and recordings, but the music files cannot be downloaded and are available through streaming. It is not a local-file backup, so do not expect to copy those tracks from your old installation as audio files.

Check playlist behavior and display settings
PRISM’s guide explains that playlist order can be changed by dragging items in the playlist window, and that source properties include an option to show or hide song information on screen. After importing, check the actual order and whether song information appears as you intend. PRISM’s Windows v5.1.0 update log, dated 2026-03-05, notes a change to show the song list when the Music Playlist source is inactive; that release note is not a guarantee about playlist recovery or an indication that v5.1.0 is the latest version.
If there is no export file
If the reinstall removed the local data and you have no saved Scene Set, the official documentation reviewed here does not establish a supported way to restore those scenes and sources from your PRISM account. Contact PRISM support if you want to ask whether any recovery option applies to your specific installation, but do not count on an account sync that the Desktop guide does not describe.

For future reinstalls, export a Scene Set and retain the file somewhere separate from the computer, such as a removable drive or a backup location you control. The export file preserves the collection configuration; keep local media files separately as well, since a scene’s reference to an asset is not the asset itself.
