If XSplit Broadcaster keeps replaying one video instead of moving through your YouTube playlist, check the loop behavior for that video in the XSplit Video Playlist source. XSplit has documented loop options for individual playlist items, but its current public guide does not confirm the setting’s exact label or default. YouTube’s Loop or Repeat control is separate: it changes playback for a viewer, not the sequence XSplit sends to the live stream.
Check the XSplit Video Playlist source
- In the scene being broadcast, choose Add source > Scene Widgets > Video Playlist. XSplit describes Video Playlist as a scene source for multiple videos with continuous playback and other playback options. See the XSplit Sources Menu overview.
- Open the Video Playlist source properties, choose Add, select the video files you want in the sequence, then save with OK. This is the setup flow in XSplit’s Video Playlist guide, updated 2022-11-08; menu labels can differ in your installed release.
- If playback repeats one item when it should advance, inspect that item’s playback properties for a loop option and turn it off if enabled. XSplit’s official update archive historically noted loop options for each video source and Video Playlist item, but the setup guide does not establish the current setting name, location, or default. Use the controls visible in your version rather than relying on an assumed click-by-click path. See XSplit’s feature archive.
- Check the scene preview or make a short private or unlisted test broadcast and confirm that playback advances to the next item before leaving the stream unattended.
Tell an XSplit loop from YouTube playlist repeat
There are two different playback layers. XSplit’s Video Playlist source determines the sequence of files in the scene and therefore the content sent to YouTube. YouTube’s Loop or Repeat control belongs to the viewer’s player. Changing it does not change XSplit’s source sequence.
| Where the repeat happens | What to check | What it affects |
|---|---|---|
| XSplit Video Playlist source | The playback properties for the repeating video item | The source sequence in the broadcast scene |
| YouTube player | The viewer’s Loop or Repeat control | Playback in that viewer’s player, not the XSplit broadcast output |
On a computer, YouTube Help says to expand the playlist box and click Loop. On TV or console, the control is called Repeat; YouTube distinguishes repeating the current video from repeating the playlist. For those viewer-side instructions, see YouTube Help: loop videos or playlists.
Verify the result before a long broadcast
After changing XSplit’s item playback settings, watch the sequence in preview or use a short controlled test broadcast. Confirm that the intended video ends, the next item starts, and the sequence behaves as expected. This is especially useful when your installed version’s controls differ from the dated setup guide.
