You can connect XSplit Broadcaster to a scheduled YouTube live event by creating the event in YouTube Studio first, then selecting it from XSplit’s Live Event List. That starts a scheduled broadcast; it does not make one stream a dependable, indefinite 24/7 channel. YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured as archives, and DVR rewind on very long streams may be limited or unavailable.
Before you start: confirm your YouTube Live access
XSplit’s YouTube Live guide says your channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. If you are enabling live streaming for the first time, approval may take up to 24 hours. Check access before you plan an event: XSplit’s YouTube Live setup guide.
Create the scheduled event in YouTube Studio
- In YouTube Studio, open Go Live, select Manage, then choose Schedule Stream.
- Enter the event details and set its customization, visibility, and scheduled time.
- Finish by selecting Done. YouTube’s encoder guide explains that scheduling provides an upcoming watch page viewers can visit before the broadcast: YouTube Help: Create a live stream with an encoder.
- In the Manage area, select the scheduled event and leave its Stream Setup page available. You will use this to check the event and its incoming stream.
Select the event in XSplit Broadcaster
- In XSplit Broadcaster, open Broadcast and choose your configured YouTube Live output.
- In Broadcast Details, choose the event you just created from Live Event List. XSplit says selecting the event fills the dialog with its information.
- Check that the selected event is the intended one before starting the output. The scheduled event must exist in YouTube first; it is not created by selecting an item in XSplit.

Choose whether YouTube needs a separate Go Live confirmation
In XSplit’s broadcast details, Manual Transition is checked by default in its guide. The setting determines whether starting the XSplit output also requires a separate action in YouTube Studio.

Choose the behavior before the scheduled start and make sure whoever is operating the channel knows which action is required.
Start early and verify the live preview
YouTube recommends configuring an encoder stream at least two hours before the event and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. That gives you time to inspect the incoming signal and correct setup problems before viewers arrive. Follow YouTube’s preparation guidance at YouTube Help: Live streaming tips.

- Open the event in YouTube’s Live Control Room and wait for its preview.
- Confirm the event is reachable from the intended channel or watch page.
- Check both audio and video, not just the fact that XSplit is sending an output.
- Monitor the stream during transmission. YouTube recommends testing failover with a backup encoder for operationally important streams; this is a preparation practice, not a guarantee of uninterrupted delivery.
- If you are recording locally as a safeguard, check that the archive file is growing. Also verify access from a mobile device if viewers are expected to watch that way.
End the event deliberately
Do not treat every encoder disconnect as a harmless pause. XSplit says selecting the active livestream and confirming Yes also ends the associated YouTube event. YouTube’s encoder instructions describe ending the event in Live Control Room and stopping the encoder. Decide who is responsible for ending the event, and use the relevant event-ending controls intentionally.
What “nonstop” means for a scheduled event
A scheduled event can help announce and launch a broadcast, but the reviewed XSplit and YouTube instructions do not establish that XSplit runs indefinitely, automatically recovers from every interruption, or guarantees continuous channel delivery. YouTube’s archive guidance says a stream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived and warns that streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all: YouTube Help: Find your live stream archive. This is an archive warning, not a statement that 12 hours is a universal cutoff for remaining live.

YouTube separately notes that DVR rewind on very long streams may be limited or unavailable beyond 12 hours: YouTube Help: Use DVR on live streams. Archive capture and DVR behavior are distinct from whether a live session is still transmitting, so do not rely on a single long event as a guaranteed permanent broadcast or assume its replay and rewind will work normally.
