2. OBS Studio: the local, do-it-yourself option
OBS is a plausible choice if you can keep a computer and its outgoing stream connection running. Its Media Source can loop a local video file, while its VLC Video source can play a playlist; playlist looping is enabled by default. These documented playback features establish that OBS can repeat media, not that a particular setup will run unattended reliably or provide time-of-day programming.
OBS runs locally, so the computer is responsible for playback and sending the stream. Your practical requirements depend on resolution and encoding workload; no specific minimum computer model or specification is established here. Account for the computer, electricity, and internet connection when assessing the local approach.

3. vMix: keep it if production control matters
vMix can play videos back to back and loop them using its PlayList and List functions. However, its support article, updated January 17, 2025, says: “vMix is primarily designed for live streaming single events and as such does not support time of day scheduling.” A loop is therefore possible, but a scheduled broadcast grid is not a built-in capability established by that documentation.
vMix is PC/laptop production software with features including video inputs, titles, guests, recording, and streaming to YouTube and other providers. Those controls can suit a channel combining prerecorded material with active production. For a simple unattended loop, they may add more production machinery than the workflow needs.

YouTube Help lists a category of cloud-based tools for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. That makes hosted streaming a relevant alternative class when you do not want to run a local encoder, but YouTube’s listing alone does not establish each provider’s current price, uptime, recovery behavior, retention, or plan limits. Check current provider documentation for continuous looping, scheduling, recovery, destinations, upload limits, and support before choosing one.
OneStream Live’s official material describes scheduling and multistreaming prerecorded and real-time video. That description does not by itself establish a current 24/7 YouTube looping feature, so confirm the live product documentation for that exact use case before selecting it.
