Keke Jabaar, a cast member of OWN’s Love & Marriage: Huntsville, died in July 2024. Later reporting on an Alabama medical examiner’s autopsy identified carbon monoxide poisoning as the cause. Her family was also reported to have raised concerns about stress and isolation connected to the show, but the available reporting does not establish that the program caused or contributed to her death.
Who was Keke Jabaar on Love & Marriage: Huntsville?
Jabaar appeared on OWN’s reality series Love & Marriage: Huntsville and was described in contemporaneous reporting as LaTisha Scott’s cousin and fellow cast member. A 2023 entertainment report covered conflict between the two on the program. That provides context for their on-screen relationship, but a report or preview of a reality show cannot establish what the production environment was like overall or what caused Jabaar’s death.
What happened when her family announced her death?
In July 2024, members of the Jabbar and Scott families announced her death through a statement relayed by news outlets. They asked for privacy: “At this time, we are asking for respect and privacy in our moment of grief while we process this great loss.” The initial announcement did not name a cause of death.
What did later reporting say about the cause of death?
In September 2024, TMZ reported that it had obtained an Alabama medical examiner autopsy report. According to TMZ’s account, the report identified carbon monoxide poisoning as the cause of death and recorded a carboxyhemoglobin level of 64%. TMZ also reported that toxicology showed oxycodone and oxymorphone. These details should be understood as TMZ’s description of the report; the underlying autopsy document and a direct statement from the medical examiner were not available in the cited coverage.

Did the show cause or contribute to her death?
A secondary report attributed concerns about show-related stress and isolation to Jabaar’s family. Those are serious allegations about her experience, but the cited accounts do not establish medical or legal causation, nor do they demonstrate that the show or its production caused or contributed to her death. The reported cause of death and the family’s account of stress are distinct claims; neither should be used to claim more than the reporting supports.
The available coverage also does not establish the full circumstances of Jabaar’s participation in the series or substantiate an independent investigation into production practices. A single account of on-screen family conflict is not proof of conditions behind the scenes.
