To loop Indian classical flute meditation music on YouTube Live, play a rights-cleared recording on repeat in an encoder such as OBS Studio, then send that continuous feed to YouTube. In OBS, add the recording as a Media Source and enable Loop; for several recordings, use a VLC Video source playlist. The repeat setting controls playback in your encoder—YouTube receives the stream you send.

Choose a single recording or a playlist

Playback setup Best for What to know
OBS Media Source One prepared video file containing the music and any still or animated visual OBS supports common video formats including MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM, as well as audio formats including MP3, AAC, OGG and WAV. Enable the source’s Loop option. OBS Media Sources
OBS VLC Video source A rotation of separate tracks Add the files as a playlist and use Loop Playlist, which OBS documents as on by default. VLC must be installed. OBS Media Sources

A single combined file is the simpler choice when you want one continuous arrangement. A playlist keeps tracks separate, which is useful when you want to manage their order individually.

Set up a continuous loop in OBS

  1. Prepare the media. Combine the flute recording with a visual in a video file, or use an audio file as the source and add a separate image or other visual in your OBS scene. Confirm that you have permission to broadcast the exact recording.
  2. Create a scene and add the source. In OBS Studio, add a Media Source to the scene. Select the prepared file and enable Loop. For separate tracks, add a VLC Video source, build the playlist, and check that Loop Playlist is enabled. OBS documents these source and playback controls in its Media Sources guide.
  3. Connect OBS to YouTube. In YouTube Studio, create or open the livestream setup and use its encoder connection details to connect OBS with the service and stream key. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Follow YouTube’s current live-stream setup prompts for your channel.
  4. Check the incoming preview. Before making the broadcast public, verify that YouTube receives the intended image and flute audio. Listen for unwanted silence, distortion, or an abrupt start.
  5. Test the loop transition. Let playback reach the end and restart. Check for a blank visual, pause, or sharp audio cut. The source’s loop control repeats playback, but the file’s ending and beginning determine whether the transition sounds and looks smooth.
  6. Start the livestream. Once the preview and transition are right, start streaming from OBS and complete the corresponding YouTube Studio steps to begin the live broadcast.

A loop in OBS is not, by itself, a YouTube-side repeat setting: the encoder must remain connected and continue sending the feed for the broadcast to stay live.

Clear rights for the recording before you go live

Confirm that the specific performance and sound recording may be used in a YouTube livestream. A composition’s age or traditional status does not automatically make a modern performance or recording free to broadcast. Check that any permission covers livestreaming, the territories where viewers may watch, and any replay that remains available afterward.

YouTube says its live streams are scanned for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the live stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop using the material; if the content continues, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. If you have licensed a track that may match Content ID, YouTube says to ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

A label such as “free” on a music download page does not establish permission for a livestream. YouTube describes safe music as music in the public domain or used with the copyright owner’s permission, recommends its Audio Library, and advises checking the scope of third-party music licenses. Read YouTube’s tips to find safe music before choosing a track.

Or let it run in the cloud

If you want a pre-recorded flute program to keep looping without leaving OBS or a computer running at home, StreamNeo keeps a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload the recording, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops the video from the cloud. It streams the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for YouTube streams of uploaded videos, not live camera feeds. See StreamNeo or start the free first day.

Troubleshoot common loop problems

  • The file plays once and stops: Check that Loop is enabled on the Media Source, or that Loop Playlist is enabled for the VLC Video source.
  • The stream ends even though the source is looping: The repeat control only affects local playback. Check that OBS is still streaming and that YouTube is still receiving the encoder feed.
  • YouTube shows no image or audio: Check the YouTube preview, the selected source and scene, and the stream-key connection. Confirm the media plays in OBS before starting the broadcast.
  • There is a pause, blank frame, or abrupt cut at the restart: Inspect the file’s final and opening moments, then test the complete transition in OBS before going live.
  • The livestream is interrupted after a copyright warning: Stop using the matched material unless you have the necessary rights. For licensed material that triggers a match, contact the rights owner about adding your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a “free” label alone is not proof of permission.

What to check before publishing the livestream

  • The recording itself—not just the underlying composition—is cleared for livestream use.
  • The license covers the intended audience territories and any retained replay.
  • The OBS source or playlist is set to loop, and you have checked one full restart.
  • The YouTube preview shows and plays the intended feed before you make it public.
  • Your channel’s current YouTube live-stream requirements are satisfied; eligibility depends on your account and is not established by the playback setup.
