The best fit depends on what you mean by “daily video uploads.” If you want to publish regular YouTube videos, playout software is the wrong tool: the options below schedule prerecorded videos as livestreams or assemble a continuous livestream channel. For a cloud-hosted, always-on YouTube stream made from uploaded videos, StreamNeo is the simplest fit. For a programmed lineup with scheduled items and live inserts, Castr is the closest documented fit here; OneStream Live is another option for scheduled prerecorded streams and continuous looping.
First, separate daily uploads from daily livestream playout
Publishing a new video to your YouTube channel each day is different from scheduling a prerecorded video to go live, and both differ from running a continuous livestream channel. YouTube’s encoder workflow is for creating a livestream; it does not turn playout services into ordinary video-upload schedulers. This comparison covers the latter two livestream workflows.
- Ordinary video publishing: upload videos to YouTube and use YouTube’s publishing or scheduling workflow. The sources covered here do not establish these playout products as tools for managing routine uploads.
- Scheduled prerecorded livestreams: broadcast a finished video as a livestream at a chosen time, potentially on a recurring basis.
- Continuous channel-style playout: run a livestream from a playlist or schedule, sometimes with live streams inserted into the lineup.
Best options by playout workflow
| Rank | Service | Best fit | What the cited documentation establishes | Check before choosing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | StreamNeo | An always-on YouTube livestream from uploaded videos | It loops uploaded videos or playlists from the cloud, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream; every slot supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and the first day is free. | It plays uploaded videos, not a camera feed, and streams to YouTube only. It is a continuous-loop service, not a documented schedule builder for timed breaks or live inserts. |
| 2 | Castr cloud TV playout | A scheduled channel lineup combining videos and live streams | Castr describes a cloud playout channel that schedules uploaded videos, recordings, and live streams, with timed breaks and schedule edits, and can deliver the channel as a YouTube livestream. Its page says loop mode is included on Premium and higher plans. | Confirm the current plan tier for looping, file and output limits, resolution, YouTube destination support, and schedule capabilities. The cited page says 1080p up to 60 fps is available on Ultra and Events; other plans output 720p at 30 fps. These are vendor-listed specifications and may change. |
| 3 | OneStream Live | Scheduling prerecorded streams ahead, including a continuous YouTube loop | Its help pages describe uploading from a device or cloud storage, scheduling as far as 60 days ahead, and YouTube-only 24/7 looping. | Verify current scheduling horizon, looping limits, storage and upload quotas, destinations, and plan restrictions. |
| 4 | StreamYard | A single prerecorded broadcast scheduled to YouTube | The help page describes choosing a prerecorded video as the stream source, selecting YouTube, and scheduling the stream for later. It says advance scheduling is available for Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and StreamYard On-Air, but not custom RTMP destinations. | Check the current plan requirement, duration and file-size limits, and whether the workflow supports the unattended start you need. The cited page does not establish continuous station-style playout. |
| 5 | OBS Studio with YouTube Live Control Room | Local, operator-managed livestream playout | YouTube documents creating a livestream with an encoder. OBS’s guide describes a local workflow using OBS and YouTube Live Control Room. | A computer and operator-managed stream start are part of this model; it is not cloud-hosted scheduling. The cited OBS guide is old, so check current official instructions for interface details. |
These are fits based on vendor documentation, not independent product tests or performance rankings. Feature limits and plan packaging can change.
How to choose the right kind of service
Choose continuous looping when the channel should stay live
If the goal is for an uploaded video or playlist to keep playing as a YouTube livestream, compare looping limits, cloud operation, recovery behavior, storage, and video quality. StreamNeo is aimed at this always-on, uploaded-video workflow. OneStream Live also documents YouTube-only continuous looping. Castr supports loop mode on the plans its cited page identifies as Premium and higher.

Choose channel playout when the lineup changes on a timetable
If the channel needs a programmed sequence of videos, timed breaks, or live-stream inserts, Castr is the closest documented match in this comparison. Its cloud TV playout page describes schedule and loop modes, timed breaks, live-stream insertion, and YouTube delivery. Confirm that the current plan’s scheduling, file, output, and destination limits fit your timetable.
Choose scheduled broadcasts for individual daily events
If each day’s video should start as a separate scheduled livestream rather than run as part of a continuous channel, StreamYard documents scheduling a prerecorded source to YouTube. OneStream Live documents prerecorded streams scheduled up to 60 days ahead. Compare their current unattended-start behavior, duration limits, upload quotas, and plan restrictions before committing.

Choose a local encoder only if you want local control
OBS Studio paired with YouTube Live Control Room gives an operator control over a locally run encoder workflow. YouTube’s encoder instructions apply to starting a livestream; they do not mean that a PC-based setup is required for cloud playout services. Use this route when you specifically need hands-on local production and can manage the computer and stream operation.
What to verify before paying
- Workflow: Is this routine video publishing, one scheduled prerecorded livestream, or a continuous channel with a changing lineup?
- Schedule: How far ahead can you schedule, and can the service handle the daily timetable you need?
- Looping and inserts: Does the plan loop continuously? Can it insert live streams or timed breaks if required?
- Hosting and start behavior: Does playout run in the cloud, or must a person start and maintain a local encoder?
- Destination: Confirm YouTube delivery and any destination restrictions. For StreamNeo, the destination is YouTube only.
- Limits and output: Check storage, file and playlist counts, duration, resolution, frame rate, and any plan-specific restrictions.
- Platform rules: Make sure you have rights to the video and audio you broadcast. A technical ability to stream does not grant permission to use copyrighted material, and a livestream’s availability does not guarantee YouTube monetization. Review YouTube’s current copyright and monetization policies for your specific content.
