If a Livepush playlist broadcast is silent on YouTube, first check whether the sound is missing only from that broadcast or from YouTube playback on your device generally. Check the YouTube player and device volume, compare another YouTube video and another device, then isolate whether one playlist item or the whole broadcast is affected. These checks help narrow the problem without assuming a particular Livepush audio or encoding fault.
First, find out where the sound disappears
Compare four things before changing the stream setup: other YouTube videos on the same device, the same broadcast on another device, the affected playlist item against the other items, and the saved YouTube destination in Livepush. The pattern points to the next check:
- Other YouTube videos are silent on this device: start with the player, browser or app, device output, and sound settings.
- Other YouTube videos have sound, but the Livepush broadcast does not: check the playlist item and the broadcast’s YouTube destination.
- Only one playlist item is silent: isolate that item and check whether its source recording has audible sound. This is a diagnostic test, not a documented Livepush-specific audio fault.
- The Livepush broadcast is silent across devices: after checking the source and destination, contact Livepush support with the details listed below.
YouTube Help’s first check is straightforward: “Make sure that sound/volume is turned on for your browser or device.” YouTube’s no-sound troubleshooting guidance also advises checking sound settings and restarting the browser or device.
Check YouTube playback and device sound
- Unmute the YouTube player. Check the player’s mute control and volume level on the affected broadcast.
- Check the browser or app and device output. Verify that the browser tab or application is not muted and that the device’s volume and sound-output settings are correct. If the device is routing audio to a different output, select the intended output.
- Play another YouTube video on the same device. If it is silent too, focus on the browser or app, device sound settings, and selected output rather than the Livepush playlist.
- Restart the browser or device. If YouTube playback remains affected, update the browser or app and try another supported device. YouTube’s general playback troubleshooting guidance recommends restarting or updating and trying another device.
If other YouTube videos play normally with sound, continue with the broadcast-specific checks.

Check whether one playlist item is silent
Compare the affected video with other items in the same playlist. If the rest of the playlist has sound, play the suspected source recording outside the broadcast and listen for its audio. A silent source file would explain why that item sounds silent, but Livepush’s consulted documentation does not describe a specific source-file audio diagnostic or identify a particular audio-track or codec setting as the cause.
Livepush describes playlist streaming as videos queued to play back-to-back in one continuous broadcast. It says it re-encodes uploaded videos to common constant encoding parameters to reduce glitches, freezes, or drops at transitions. Verify the YouTube destination in Livepush
Make sure the stream is configured for the intended YouTube channel and live event, and that the destination is enabled. Livepush’s setup guide describes linking the account, choosing a channel and new live event, saving the destination, and toggling it on. Follow the guide to confirm that the saved destination matches the broadcast you are watching: Livepush YouTube destination setup.
This is a check of the broadcast setup, not a special audio repair. If the destination is correct and the broadcast remains silent across devices, share the stream URL, the affected playlist item, when you observed the problem, the configured destination or event, and the checks you have already tried with Livepush support.

Why network or encoding changes may not be the answer
YouTube’s general playback guidance notes that network congestion can affect live programming, but it does not identify congestion as a specific cause of silent audio. The Livepush documentation consulted here likewise does not establish a particular codec, audio-track, or encoder setting that fixes this symptom. Avoid changing technical settings based on guesswork; first establish whether the issue is device-wide, item-specific, or present across the broadcast.
