Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →The right alternative depends on whether you are performing live, hosting guests, or keeping a prerecorded devotional playlist on YouTube. For a live bhajan performance with local scene and audio control, start with OBS Studio. For a browser-based program with guests, compare StreamYard. For an unattended stream made from videos or playlists, StreamNeo runs the uploaded program from the cloud. These are different workflows, not interchangeable versions of the same tool.
Choose by the kind of devotional stream you want to make
| What you want to do | Best starting point | What to weigh |
|---|---|---|
| Sing or play live with control over scenes and audio | OBS Studio | Local production control, setup effort, computer capacity, and how your microphone or instruments connect. |
| Host a live devotional program with musicians or guests joining remotely | StreamYard | Guest workflow, branding, recording limits, destination count, and current plan terms. |
| Run prerecorded bhajans, devotional videos, or a playlist continuously | StreamNeo | Rights to every asset, cloud operation, playlist support, service terms, and YouTube policy. |
| Go live simply from a phone or webcam | YouTube’s built-in live options | Channel eligibility, camera and audio needs, and whether you need production controls beyond the basics. |
This is a workflow guide, not a performance ranking. No hands-on tests, uptime tests, latency comparisons, or audio-quality comparisons are available here.
Check YouTube eligibility before choosing software
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days to live stream. YouTube also says streamers must be at least 16 years old. See YouTube’s live-streaming requirements before setting up a broadcast.
YouTube supports mobile, webcam, encoder, and console streaming. Encoder software is the route for overlays and external production equipment such as microphones, preamps, and cameras; YouTube notes that encoders are commonly used for concerts and conferences. See YouTube’s encoder guidance for setup details.

Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.

OBS Studio: for live singing and instrumental performance
OBS Studio is free and open-source software for video recording and live streaming, according to the OBS Project. Its scenes, audio mixing, per-source filters, and configurable production controls make it a strong place to start when you want to produce a live performance on your own computer.
When OBS fits
- You are singing or playing in real time and want control over camera shots, lyrics, title cards, or other scene elements.
- You need to mix a microphone or instrument feed with other audio sources.
- You are comfortable configuring a local production setup and have a computer capable of encoding the stream.
What to prepare
- Set up your microphone or instrument signal path before going live. A USB microphone can be a straightforward option for some setups, but it is not required; existing XLR equipment may call for an interface or mixer.
- Build and test your OBS scenes and audio levels before the broadcast. Monitor for clipping, noise, and unwanted room sound.
- Connect OBS to YouTube using the stream setup provided in YouTube Studio. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to broadcast to your channel.
OBS gives you local production control, but a live performance depends on the computer, software, power, and internet connection remaining available for the broadcast.
StreamYard: for a hosted program with remote guests
StreamYard is worth comparing when the devotional stream is a hosted show with co-performers or guests joining through a browser. Its official pricing page describes plans with guest, recording, and multistream capabilities.

The current plan page lists six on-screen participants and two hours per month of local recording on Free; Core lists three multistream destinations, and Advanced lists eight. These are vendor-listed plan specifications, not independent tests. The page notes that prices can vary with promotions, renewals, and custom offers, so check its current terms rather than relying on an old price quote.
Compare the details that affect your show
- Whether the participant limit accommodates your musicians and host.
- Whether branding and recording limits on the plan fit your intended format.
- How many destinations you actually need; a larger destination count is not automatically useful if you only stream to YouTube.
- Whether the browser-based guest flow suits your performers’ devices and connections.
StreamNeo: for an unattended prerecorded YouTube program
If you want a continuous channel built from recordings or playlists rather than a live performance, StreamNeo is the closest fit among these options. It is a cloud service for YouTube: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and start the stream. The service says the computer can then be turned off while it loops the uploaded material from the cloud.
StreamNeo lists one always-on stream per slot, 24/7 looping and playlists, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. It says uploads stream as made, up to 4K 60fps, without re-encoding or quality tiers. These are vendor-published service details, not independent endurance or quality testing.

YouTube says Content ID claims can block a video, monetize it for a rights holder, or track viewership, and the effect can vary by geography. A Content ID claim is different from a copyright removal request or strike. Read YouTube’s Content ID claim information; it cannot establish whether your specific license covers a planned broadcast.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Keep continuous programming original and policy-aware
A continuous stream is not automatically policy-safe or eligible for monetization just because it loops. YouTube’s spam policy warns against automated or synthetic mass production of repetitive content, detection evasion, and deceptive engagement manipulation. It says violations can lead to monetization suspension or channel or account termination. The policy does not say every loop is prohibited. Build a rights-cleared program that adds genuine value, and do not alter audio or visuals to evade detection.
Common setup problems and what to check
- YouTube will not let you start a live stream: check channel verification, age eligibility, and whether the channel has a live-streaming restriction within the previous 90 days.
- The broadcast has no voice or instrument audio: check that the intended input is selected in the production software, that the device is connected, and that its level is not muted or clipping.
- The stream is live but the wrong program appears: confirm the correct scene or source is active, and verify the destination and stream key in the encoder or streaming service.
- A devotional recording is blocked, claimed, or restricted in some places: review the YouTube Studio claim details and the rights for both the composition and recording. A streaming tool cannot resolve a rights dispute.
- A continuous stream stops after the home computer is turned off: local encoder streams rely on the computer and its connection. For an unattended prerecorded YouTube program, consider a cloud service designed for that workflow.
Or let it run in the cloud
For prerecorded YouTube programming, the StreamNeo flow is: upload your video or make a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, then go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. Uploaded video streams at its original quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot; the service says it attempts automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. Use the free day to check that the workflow suits your channel and that your material is cleared for use. Start your StreamNeo free day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Streamlabs Talk Studio discontinued?
The available official Streamlabs destination guide still documents connecting YouTube, though it is dated April 25, 2025. A separate 2025 discontinuation announcement concerned Streamlabs Music in Streamlabs Desktop, not Talk Studio. Check the current Talk Studio interface and availability before relying on older setup instructions.
Can I use OBS for a prerecorded bhajan loop?
OBS can produce a stream locally, but it depends on your computer and connection staying available. For a cloud-run prerecorded playlist, use a service designed for that workflow instead.
