Give the encoder at least 20% upload-bandwidth headroom, test the exact audio and visuals, and confirm the preview and stream health before going live. Settings cannot solve the central legal issue: you need rights for continuous live use and any archived replay of every song.
YouTube Live settings for a 24/7 Tamil songs stream
These are YouTube’s encoder recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular computer, network, or stream will stay online. For a music stream with a mostly static visual, 30 fps is often a practical starting point; prioritize dependable audio and upload capacity over a higher frame rate unless the picture needs it.

YouTube’s published H.264 bitrate figures are ingestion guidance. Choose a bitrate your encoder and connection can sustain continuously, and leave the recommended upload headroom rather than treating the recommended bitrate as a promise of stability.

These figures are from YouTube Help’s “Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions”; they are not guarantees of viewer playback quality or connection reliability. YouTube transcodes the incoming stream into playback formats. If your chosen encoder or available upload cannot reliably sustain the target, lower the resolution or bitrate and test again.

Check channel eligibility and prepare the live stream
Your channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned launch. YouTube’s encoder guide recommends setting up at least two hours before an event and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes early.
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream. Scheduling lets viewers see an upcoming stream and opt in to notifications.
- In Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key into the matching fields in your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it unnecessarily.
- Set the stream title, description, privacy, and other event details. Review the stream-key, latency, DVR, auto-start, and auto-stop controls available for the stream; choose settings that fit your operation rather than assuming they are enabled or suitable by default.
- Start the encoder and wait for the incoming stream preview in Live Control Room. Check stream health and audio/video quality, then start the event when the preview is correct.
- Open the watch page on a phone as well as on the encoder machine. Confirm that the audio is audible and clean, the image is correct, and the stream is actually playing.
Low latency is most useful when you are interacting with viewers. YouTube notes that lower latency can mean more buffering, so a music broadcast that does not need real-time chat responses may be better served by a less aggressive latency setting.
Test the stream and plan for failures
Do a full test with representative songs, transitions, and the actual visual treatment—not just a short silent test pattern. A still image can hide problems that become obvious when a visualizer or animated artwork is used, while a quiet test track may fail to reveal clipping or an audio-routing error.

- Check the encoder’s outgoing bitrate and YouTube’s stream-health status while the test runs.
- Measure sustained upload capacity under realistic household or studio use, then keep at least 20% upload-bandwidth headroom, as YouTube’s streaming guidance advises.
- Listen for clipping, silence, channel imbalance, and abrupt cuts at playlist transitions. Check that the selected audio input is the one actually reaching the encoder.
- Test what happens after a brief network interruption, encoder restart, or power loss. Verify backup-encoder failover if your setup has one; do not assume it will take over correctly without testing.
- If recording locally, confirm that the archive file is growing and that the computer has adequate storage.
A UPS or battery backup for a streaming PC can reduce the risk from brief power interruptions, but it will not fix a network outage or encoder fault. YouTube’s guidance also warns that disruptions can break a stream.

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived after they end. Its cited encoder guidance does not promise that a single live session can remain active indefinitely. For an always-on channel, treat session rotation and restart behavior as an operational requirement: test the sequence, monitor it, and know how the next session will start rather than assuming one encoder session can run forever.
Set up an alert or a regular check for a missing preview, a failed restart, or a stream that has stopped. If a stream drops, identify whether the cause is the encoder, the network, power, or a YouTube-side interruption before restarting. A restart plan is not a substitute for permission to broadcast the music.

Music rights: clear them before broadcasting
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects such content, it may replace the live video with a placeholder and warn the creator; if the content remains, it may interrupt or terminate the stream. Even licensed third-party content can be interrupted if the rights owner has not added the channel to its Content ID allowlist.
YouTube’s livestream terms say the creator represents and warrants that they have all necessary rights to exploit live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public-performance licenses), and other royalty participants. You remain responsible for verifying that the permissions cover the intended use.
Owning an audio file, having a consumer music subscription, or having permission to upload a track does not by itself establish permission to broadcast it continuously or leave a replay online. Check the rights for both the composition and sound recording, the territories you intend to reach, continuous live use, and any archived replay. If a provider or rights holder says the music is cleared, verify whether your channel must be allowlisted in Content ID. No particular Tamil-music licensing provider or its permissions are established here.

Run the stream yourself or use a cloud service
A local software encoder gives you direct control, but your computer, power, network, and restart logic become part of the broadcast. A hardware encoder changes the local equipment; it does not remove the need to plan for connectivity, monitoring, and session restarts. Neither approach makes a stream immune to interruption, and the YouTube guidance does not rank third-party encoder services.
