YouTube’s encoder workflow covers creating the stream, connecting with its stream URL and key, checking the preview, and going live. A true 24/7 setup also depends on keeping the computer, playback source, and network running, and YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured as archives.
Before you set up the stream: confirm rights and channel access
Get permission for every part of the program
Obtain permission that covers public live broadcast on YouTube for each cartoon episode and its music, voices, clips, and other included material. Do not assume that an existing YouTube upload is available to rebroadcast, or download and repeat episodes without documented rights. The sources available do not establish a Malayalam cartoon library with 24/7 rebroadcast permission; contact each rights holder directly.
YouTube Help says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A detected match can cause YouTube to replace the feed with a placeholder and warn you to stop. If the issue remains unresolved, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. A license alone may not prevent an interruption: ask the rights holder whether they must allowlist your channel through Content ID. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Check that your channel can go live
YouTube’s general guidance requires a verified channel, no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, and a creator who is at least 16 years old. If you have not enabled live streaming before, activation can take up to 24 hours. Check access and enable the feature well before your planned broadcast using YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.

Set up an encoder stream from Linux
YouTube documents the encoder connection workflow, but the available guidance does not establish a particular Linux installation method, OBS version, automated playlist setup, or configuration tested specifically for Malayalam cartoons. OBS Studio is one possible software encoder; consult its current official Linux documentation for installation details rather than relying on an unverified package or command.
- Create the broadcast: In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule an encoder stream. Follow YouTube’s current prompts for the broadcast.
- Connect the encoder: If the encoder offers a YouTube preset, select it. Otherwise, copy the stream URL from Live Control Room into the encoder’s server field and the stream key into its key field. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Start and preview: Start the encoder, then wait for the incoming feed to appear in Live Control Room. Check the preview and stream status before starting the public broadcast.
- Go live and monitor: Start the broadcast from Live Control Room when ready. For a long-running stream, monitor the encoder, playback, network connection, and YouTube’s stream status; a local recording can provide a separate archive copy.
See YouTube’s encoder setup guide for its current steps. The sources do not specify a minimum CPU, GPU, memory, or storage requirement for this use, nor a tested Linux uptime or playlist-automation recipe. A Linux PC or mini PC must be capable of running your chosen playback and encoding setup, but no particular model or specification can be called verified here.

Plan around the archive limit
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a complete YouTube archive, plan to end and restart broadcasts in shorter sessions rather than relying on an uninterrupted 24-hour stream to produce a full recording. Keep a local archive backup as well. Check YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance for current details.
Choose the audience setting accurately
Set the audience according to whether the program is made for kids; do not choose a setting simply to retain chat or comments. For streams marked made for kids, YouTube disables live chat and chat replay, comments on the live archive and upcoming stream, and reminder notifications. Personalized ads are disabled on live streams and Premieres, although contextual ads may still appear. Details are in YouTube’s guidance on live-stream restrictions for made-for-kids content.

Keep the stream running: local PC or cloud
What the Linux-PC approach requires
With a local encoder, the computer, video playback, encoder, and network all need to remain available for the broadcast. A restart, software failure, power loss, or connection drop can interrupt the feed. Test the complete setup before relying on it, verify the Live Control Room preview, and monitor it during the stream. The cited YouTube guidance does not prescribe a particular Linux service, auto-restart command, UPS, router, or hardware specification for unattended 24/7 operation.
