Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo move a prerecorded YouTube Live loop from a local OBS setup to Gyre, first confirm your channel can livestream, then upload your videos to Gyre, connect the intended YouTube channel, configure and test a new broadcast, and only then change the audience-facing schedule. Gyre’s documented workflow sends the stream from its cloud service rather than converting an active OBS broadcast; plan for a separate stream setup and verify it in YouTube Live Control Room.
What changes when you move from OBS to Gyre?
| Decision | Local OBS loop | Gyre cloud loop |
|---|---|---|
| Where the broadcast is encoded and sent | OBS runs on your computer and sends the stream to YouTube using the stream URL and key. YouTube explains encoder streaming. | You upload files and Gyre says its servers send the broadcast. Your computer is not the outgoing encoder. Gyre’s setup information. |
| Computer and home connection | The local computer and its upload connection need to remain available while OBS is sending the stream. | The cloud workflow does not require your computer to stay on for the broadcast. You still need to check the stream in YouTube. |
| Looping and scheduling | These depend on how you built and operate your existing OBS setup. | Gyre lists playlists and scheduling among its features; access depends on the selected plan. Gyre plan details. |
| Monetization | Depends on channel eligibility and stream settings; do not assume monetization or revenue. | Gyre says monetization for API-created broadcasts depends on a YouTube Studio setting. Check the actual broadcast’s status. Gyre setup information. |
This is a migration, not a handoff of an already-running OBS session. Keep your existing stream details for reference, but set up and test the Gyre broadcast independently before changing what viewers are meant to watch.
Check YouTube eligibility before migrating
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it in advance if needed. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements.
- Sign in to the YouTube channel that will host the loop and confirm that live streaming is available.
- Check for current restrictions or recent live-streaming limits before planning a cutover.
- If this is the channel’s first livestream, allow up to 24 hours for activation rather than scheduling an immediate migration.
Prepare the existing loop and your Gyre setup
Record the current YouTube details
Before changing anything, note the existing broadcast’s title, description, thumbnail, privacy setting, and schedule. Keep a safe copy of the source videos. These notes help you recreate the intended viewer-facing presentation; they do not make the existing OBS broadcast carry over automatically.

Move the loop to Gyre and verify the new broadcast
- Upload your source videos. Add the files you want to use to Gyre storage, keeping within the storage and file limits of the plan you selected.
- Build and order the playlist. Arrange the uploaded videos in the order you want viewers to see them. Check whether playlist and scheduler features are included with your selected plan.
- Connect the intended YouTube channel. Use the channel that passed the eligibility checks; take care not to connect a different brand or personal channel by mistake.
- Configure the Gyre broadcast. Set up the stream and, if needed, its schedule. Recreate the title, description, thumbnail, privacy, and timing you recorded from the existing broadcast.
- Run a test before moving the audience-facing schedule. Open YouTube Live Control Room, inspect the preview, and confirm the watch page, picture, and audio. YouTube recommends testing and checking the preview before a broadcast. YouTube’s streaming tips.
- Check monetization separately if it matters. Gyre says API-created broadcast monetization depends on a YouTube Studio setting and may be off if that setting is not enabled. Verify the setting and the specific stream’s status rather than inferring it from the old OBS broadcast. Gyre setup information.
- Cut over only after the test looks right. Once the new broadcast is verified in YouTube, update the schedule or viewer-facing destination as needed. Avoid assuming an active OBS stream will be transferred into Gyre.
Network, copyright, and YouTube policy checks
Network and preview
YouTube’s network guidance recommends about 20% upload-bandwidth headroom for the stream. With Gyre, the outgoing encoder connection is in the cloud rather than your home connection, but you still need to verify the resulting stream in YouTube Live Control Room. The home connection change does not remove the need to check playback, audio, or the watch page.
Rights and reused material
Using prerecorded material as a live loop does not itself grant rights to the video, music, footage, or other included content. Use material you own or are licensed to use, and review YouTube’s copyright and monetization rules for your channel and content. A successful technical test is not a copyright clearance or a guarantee of monetization.

Troubleshooting a Gyre cutover
| Symptom | What to check | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start a YouTube live broadcast | Channel verification, live-stream eligibility, restrictions, and whether first-time activation is still pending. | Resolve eligibility first; if live streaming was just enabled for the first time, allow up to 24 hours. |
| The stream is not visible as expected in YouTube | The connected channel, broadcast privacy and schedule, and the Live Control Room preview. | Confirm the intended channel and settings, then run another test before moving viewers to the broadcast. |
| There is no picture or audio in the preview | The uploaded source files, playlist selection, and the preview itself. | Check that the intended files are included and play correctly; verify both picture and sound in YouTube before treating the test as complete. |
| A playlist or schedule option is unavailable | Whether the selected Gyre plan includes the relevant playlist or scheduler feature. | Compare the current plan terms with the feature you need before changing the plan or workflow. |
| Monetization is not enabled on the new broadcast | The relevant YouTube Studio setting and the stream’s own monetization status. | Check both directly; do not assume the old OBS stream’s settings transferred. |
| The checkout total or payment option differs from expectation in India | The current Gyre checkout, including currency, tax, and accepted payment method. | Verify directly before purchase; the displayed USD list prices do not establish India-specific checkout terms. |

If the goal is simply to keep a prerecorded YouTube loop live without leaving a computer on, StreamNeo is another cloud option: upload your video, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It streams uploaded videos to YouTube only; it is not a camera-streaming service.
