YouTube says an upload can be up to 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less; a cloud looping service may have separate limits for one uploaded file, total account storage, and stream output. For StreamNeo, the published storage figures are tiered, but the page reviewed does not state a maximum individual-file size.
Separate YouTube’s upload ceiling from a loop service’s limits
YouTube Help states that the maximum upload is “256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less.” An account must be verified to upload videos longer than the default 15-minute limit. YouTube notes that its limits have changed over time, so an older video on the platform may exceed the present duration limit. These are YouTube upload rules; they do not tell you how large a file a separate cloud service will accept or store.
For a cloud loop service, check at least four distinct limits: the maximum size of one file accepted, total storage in the plan, the maximum duration of one video, and supported stream output settings. A provider’s total storage allowance is not automatically the maximum size of an individual upload.
Compare the published figures without mixing categories
The figures below come from the provider pages described here; years are not stated on those pages. They are not a comprehensive survey of cloud looping services, and the YouTube upload ceiling is kept separate from provider storage.

| Service or platform | Maximum individual file | Total storage | Duration and other relevant details |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Not stated on the StreamNeo page reviewed. | StreamNeo displays 5 GB at 720p, 10 GB at 1080p, 20 GB at 1440p, and 40 GB at 4K. | Supports single-video or playlist looping and lists 30 fps and 60 fps options. Its listed 30 fps bitrate limits are up to 2.65 Mbps at 720p, 5 Mbps at 1080p, 10 Mbps at 1440p, and 20 Mbps at 4K. These are output settings, not a maximum upload-file size. |
| YouTube uploads | 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less, according to YouTube Help. | Not applicable as a cloud loop-service plan figure. | Uploads longer than 15 minutes require account verification. YouTube transcodes incoming live streams into output formats for viewers; live ingest settings are separate from the size of the original file uploaded to a cloud service. |
| Loom (provider-specific contrast, not a YouTube loop service) | 4 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less, according to Atlassian Support. | Not stated here. | The figure illustrates that upload limits differ by provider; it is not a direct cloud YouTube looping alternative. |
What to check before choosing a cloud loop service
- Individual-file acceptance: Find an explicit maximum for one upload, including whether it is expressed in GB, duration, or both. If it is not published, ask support before planning around a large file.
- Total storage: Confirm whether capacity applies to each slot, the account as a whole, or a pool shared across active slots. Compare this separately from the largest file you need to upload.
- Duration, resolution, and frame rate: A file can fit the storage allowance but exceed a duration or format constraint. Check whether the service supports your source resolution and frame rate.
- Output quality and bitrate: Determine whether the listed bitrate is an ingest ceiling, a stream output setting, or both. Do not infer upload-file size from bitrate alone.
- Loop behavior: Verify whether the service repeats one recording, plays a saved playlist, or supports both. Confirm how playlist order and transitions behave if those matter to your channel.
- Upload handling: Look for stated retry behavior and any processing constraints. These details affect the practical effort of transferring large files, even when a file is within the listed limit.
- Plan and geography: Record which plan, region, and date a published limit applies to; providers can revise plans and capabilities.
How StreamNeo fits a file-size comparison
StreamNeo is a YouTube cloud service for looping an uploaded recording or playlist. It is the first option to consider among the cloud loop services discussed here: it runs continuously from the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day without a card. Its published storage figures are 5 GB at 720p, 10 GB at 1080p, 20 GB at 1440p, and 40 GB at 4K; those totals do not establish a maximum individual upload size. StreamNeo’s service is for YouTube only.
Every StreamNeo slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. The homepage also displays quality-tier storage figures noted above; because a storage allowance and an individual-file ceiling are different measurements, confirm with StreamNeo if your particular file is close to a limit. Plans differ by duration, not by product features. The first day is free with no card; longer options are daily, weekly, monthly, six-month, and yearly, and can be cancelled any time. UPI and cards are available in India, with card checkout worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support.

If your video exceeds a confirmed limit
Compression may reduce a file’s size, but the amount of reduction and resulting quality depend on the source and encoding choices. YouTube recommends using video-editing software and H.264 to reduce a file that exceeds its 256 GB upload ceiling. HandBrake publishes presets for preparing video for sharing. Neither recommendation guarantees a particular final size or unchanged quality for every input.
- First identify which limit the file exceeds: YouTube’s upload ceiling, a service’s individual-file maximum, its total storage allowance, or a duration or format constraint.
- Make a copy of the source before re-encoding, so you retain the original.
- Use an editing or encoding tool with H.264 and a sharing-oriented preset, then check the new file’s size, duration, resolution, and playback quality.
- Compare the new file against the specific provider limit before uploading. If no individual-file maximum is published, ask the provider rather than assuming the total storage figure is the per-file cap.
Or let it run in the cloud
Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded video in the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not need to stay on. It supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month.
