You can run a continuous Konkani music livestream from a mini PC by sending a playlist or other authorized audio-and-video source through OBS Studio to YouTube’s Live Control Room. Before configuring the encoder, confirm your channel can livestream and that your music permissions cover continuous YouTube broadcasting. Then test the actual mini PC, connection, and recording setup: compatible hardware specifications alone do not guarantee uninterrupted streaming.
1. Confirm your channel can livestream and clear the music rights
Check YouTube eligibility
YouTube says livestreaming requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days; its getting-started guidance also says the streamer must be at least 16. Check that live streaming is enabled before setting up OBS. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Get permission for continuous live use
Use only music for which the rights holder has granted permission covering continuous live broadcasting on YouTube and the territories where you expect the stream to be available. A “free” label, a credit in the description, or access to a track on a music service does not by itself establish that you have a livestream license. Keep written permission and any territorial or usage conditions with your production records.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects such material, it may replace the stream with a placeholder image and issue a warning; leaving the material in place can result in temporary interruption or termination. If you have licensed third-party music, ask the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube says a live stream can still be interrupted without allowlisting, even where the creator has a license. Copyright strikes or a match to another copyrighted live broadcast can also affect livestream access. 2. Prepare the mini PC and OBS Studio
Check the machine in the setup you intend to use
Install OBS Studio and test the exact scene, audio source, output resolution, frame rate, and local recording you plan to run. Do not assume a mini PC is suitable just because it meets a baseline specification. OBS notes that compatible hardware does not guarantee streaming or recording capability; CPU load depends on the encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity. OBS’s Linux/Unix requirements include an OpenGL 3.3-compatible GPU and an X window system or Wayland. See the OBS system requirements.
For a radio-style Konkani music channel, a static or low-motion visual may be sufficient; a high video resolution is not automatically useful. Confirm that the audio source plays cleanly, levels do not clip, and the mini PC remains stable during an extended test. No particular mini PC model or configuration can be treated as proven for your workload without testing it.

Create the YouTube encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream using the encoder option.
- In the stream settings, copy the YouTube server URL and stream key into OBS Studio’s YouTube/custom streaming settings. Treat the stream key like a password: YouTube uses it to identify where the encoder sends the feed and to accept that feed. Do not publish it or include it in screenshots.
- In OBS, configure your audio/video source and output, then start streaming. For a scheduled stream, wait for the preview in Live Control Room, check that it looks and sounds right, and select Go live there.
- To finish a scheduled session, end the stream in YouTube Studio and then stop sending from OBS. YouTube’s encoder instructions are at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder; OBS also provides a YouTube setup guide.
3. Choose encoder settings your machine and connection can sustain
YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), and a keyframe interval of 2 seconds, not exceeding 4 seconds. It supports H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 for RTMP/RTMPS ingestion, AAC or MP3 audio, and up to 60 fps. For H.264, its example recommended video bitrates are 5 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps and 4 Mbps for 720p at 30 fps; its recommended stereo audio bitrate is 128 Kbps. These are platform recommendations, not a guarantee that your mini PC or internet connection can sustain them. Consult YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance.

Start with a supported output your machine and connection can sustain. For a low-motion music visual, a modest resolution may be adequate; prioritize uninterrupted, clean audio over a resolution you cannot reliably encode or upload.

Measure upload capacity and leave headroom
Run an upload speed test from the network the mini PC will use. YouTube recommends leaving 20% bandwidth headroom above the combined bitrate of the stream and any backup stream. Shared networks can provide less usable upload bandwidth than their headline speed, and interruptions in connectivity can break a stream. 4. Test the broadcast before relying on it
YouTube recommends setting up an encoder at least two hours before a stream and starting it at least 15 minutes before a scheduled event. For a continuously running channel, use those recommendations as a preflight and adapt them to maintenance or scheduled restarts. Monitor the preview, stream health, and audio/video quality rather than assuming that a successful connection means the whole program is sound. YouTube’s checklist is in its live-streaming tips.

- Confirm the stream preview appears in Live Control Room and that the event is reachable where intended.
- Listen for silence, clipping, abrupt track transitions, or an incorrect audio source.
- Check OBS and YouTube stream health for warnings, dropped frames, or connection instability.
- If recording locally, verify that the recording file is being created and growing, and that the chosen drive has room for the intended recording period.
- Run a long enough test to observe the mini PC’s actual load and thermal or stability issues in your normal setup.
5. Plan for power, internet, and archive limitations
A mini PC does not prevent outages caused by home or venue power, internet access, or YouTube. A UPS and local storage are optional ways to reduce some risks, but no particular capacity or run time is established here. Decide who will notice a failed stream and how they will restart it; do not treat an unattended computer as a substitute for monitoring.
Do not rely on YouTube for a full 24-hour archive
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If retaining the full program matters, enable a local recording and verify it is being written. Alternatively, plan shorter sessions and restart them, understanding that this requires active operation. Read YouTube’s archive guidance.
