Choose recordings you have the right to use
Use original performances made for the channel, or obtain and keep documentation for the recordings and visuals you plan to broadcast. Confirm that permissions cover online live streaming, the relevant territories, and archive or replay use where applicable. A devotional song being traditional does not by itself make a particular modern recording, arrangement, or visual free to use.
YouTube puts responsibility for necessary rights on the content provider and scans live streams for third-party matches. A match can replace the stream with a placeholder, trigger a warning, or cause a temporary interruption or termination. Even a license may not prevent interruption if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. Keep permission records accessible and, where appropriate, ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting before relying on a licensed recording for an uninterrupted broadcast.

Make the channel’s contribution clear
Copyright permission and monetization eligibility are separate. YouTube reviews reused content at the channel level; permission alone does not guarantee monetization. Its July 15, 2025 policy update renamed the repetitious-content policy “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced content is ineligible under that policy. Original performances, meaningful editorial or educational context, and a clear explanation of the channel’s own contribution help viewers and reviewers understand what the channel creates.
Set up a computer or hardware encoder
- Verify the channel and enable live streaming. Complete verification and check live-streaming status before production. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time enablement.
- Create a stream in YouTube Live Control Room. Use the stream’s server URL and stream key shown there. YouTube supports software encoders and standalone hardware encoders.
- Enter the connection details in the encoder. Paste the server URL and stream key into the matching fields. Treat the key like a password: do not share it publicly or include it in a visible screenshot. Reset it if you believe it has been exposed.
- Choose a stable output format. YouTube’s current guidance lists RTMP or RTMPS, H.264, H.265, or AV1 video, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. Select the resolution-specific bitrate from YouTube’s current guidance for the format you choose. The exact appropriate bitrate depends on resolution and encoding settings, so do not use one assumed value for every stream.
- Build and test the playlist or live production. Check that bhajans play in the intended order, the audio is intelligible and not clipping, and any visuals are permitted. Test before launch and monitor stream health. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring but does not promise uninterrupted availability.
- Plan for faults and stream boundaries. Arrange alerts and a person or recovery procedure for encoder, power, or internet failure. Schedule multiple segments shorter than 12 hours, with planned restart gaps or a tested handoff. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; that is not a promise that one endless broadcast or a single uninterrupted archive is safe.
- Set clear metadata and schedule. Use a descriptive Gujarati title and description, identify performers and recording sources, and make the schedule visible. State plainly whether a broadcast is a live performance or prerecorded material being streamed.

Understand monetization before relying on it
If the channel is in the YouTube Partner Program and monetization is enabled, eligible live streams may earn from ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and memberships where available. Troubleshoot common 24/7 stream problems
