Yes—but it depends on which playlist you mean. To change the videos playing inside the live broadcast, edit the queue or source in the encoder or streaming service sending the feed to YouTube. Editing a saved playlist on your YouTube channel is a separate action and should not be assumed to change the live program.
First, identify which playlist you want to change

YouTube documents saved-playlist editing separately from live-stream connection settings. The stream URL and stream key are the connection details an encoder uses to send its feed to YouTube; Live Control Room settings do not establish a universal editor for the live program’s playlist. Change the playlist that viewers are watching
- Find the system sending the broadcast. This may be an encoder or a cloud streaming service. The relevant queue is the one feeding the live stream, not necessarily a playlist saved on your YouTube channel.
- Open that system’s live source or playlist controls. Add, remove, or reorder items using the controls it provides. The exact steps vary by provider; YouTube’s help pages do not specify a universal live-queue workflow.
- Check what is actually going out. Review the encoder or service preview, then check the YouTube watch page. Do not promise an immediate cutover: a change might wait until the current item finishes, or it may cause a pause or reconnect, depending on the system.
Edit a saved YouTube playlist instead
If you mean a playlist page on your channel, open that playlist and use YouTube’s playlist controls. On desktop, YouTube says you can drag videos up or down to change their order and use the remove-from-playlist action to take an item out. These edits change the saved playlist; they are not a documented way to edit a separate live feed. See YouTube’s playlist instructions.
Plan for replay and archiving on a 24/7 stream
A continuous broadcast has a separate limitation from changing its playlist. YouTube says DVR capabilities may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours, so viewers may not be able to rewind through the whole broadcast. YouTube also warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured as an archive at all. These are DVR and archive cautions—not a requirement to end a stream at 12 hours.
