Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsYes—you can stream a rain ambience video to YouTube over JioFiber, but a plan’s advertised speed does not guarantee that your connection will sustain a livestream around the clock. Test the upload from the computer and network you will use, choose an encoder bitrate the connection can reliably carry with headroom, and plan separately for power, internet interruptions, and replay recording. For an always-on stream, your computer and connection must remain available unless you use a cloud service.
Before you start: check YouTube Live access
Your YouTube channel must be verified, you must be at least 16, and the channel must not have had a livestreaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take time, so confirm access before the day you plan to go live. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance.
Prepare rain footage and sound you are allowed to use
Use footage, still images, and audio you created or have permission to broadcast. Keep records of licenses and permissions. A track described as “royalty-free” is not automatically cleared for every use, and having a license does not necessarily prevent a live interruption: a rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube scans live feeds for third-party content and can cover a match with a placeholder, issue a warning, interrupt or terminate the stream, or apply a strike. YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams and livestream terms explain the responsibilities involved.
Monetization is a separate question from whether the stream can go live. YouTube’s channel monetization policies, updated on 2025-07-15, say highly repetitive or mass-produced material with little variation or added value can be ineligible. A rain ambience format is not automatically disqualified, but make the original contribution of your footage, sound design, or presentation clear; eligibility depends on the channel and YouTube’s policies. Do not assume the format will earn ad revenue. Read YouTube’s monetization policies.

Choose a setup that can actually run continuously
Computer, encoder, and network
For a do-it-yourself stream, use a computer running an encoder such as OBS, a stable rain video/audio source, a router, and a JioFiber connection. The computer, encoder, router, and power all need to remain available. A wired Ethernet connection can reduce Wi-Fi variability between the computer and router, but it cannot fix an upstream slowdown, power cut, or JioFiber outage.
Do not treat the JioFiber plan headline or one speed-test result as proof of 24/7 upload capacity. JioFiber advertises its broadband services at JioFiber, but the sources do not establish a universal sustained-upload guarantee for every plan or home. Measure from the actual streaming device and network path, and test at the quality you intend to broadcast. OBS also cautions that meeting its basic system requirements alone does not guarantee that a particular machine can stream a particular resolution and frame rate; see its system requirements.

Pick a conservative video bitrate
YouTube’s encoder guide gives these H.264 recommendations. They are encoder settings, not promised speeds from JioFiber. The connection needs reliable upload capacity above the video bitrate, with additional room for variation and other network use.
| Target video | YouTube-recommended H.264 bitrate |
|---|---|
| 240p–720p at 30 fps | 4 Mbps |
| 720p at 60 fps | 6 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps |
Use the lowest quality that serves the viewing experience you want and that your measured connection sustains comfortably. Rain footage with subtle movement may look acceptable at modest settings, but test your own video and audio rather than assuming it will behave like a still image. YouTube’s settings can change; check its current encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions before configuring a new stream.

Set the encoder for YouTube ingestion
- Protocol: YouTube supports RTMP/RTMPS ingestion and recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport to its servers.
- Video codec: YouTube’s guide lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 options. The bitrate examples above are specifically H.264 recommendations.
- Frame rate: YouTube supports up to 60 fps; choose a rate your footage, computer, and connection can handle.
- Keyframes: Set a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube says not to exceed four seconds.
- Rate control: Use constant bitrate (CBR), as recommended in YouTube’s encoder guidance.
- Audio: YouTube lists AAC or MP3. Listen for clipping, silence, loops that do not join cleanly, or audio that drifts out of sync during a test.
Set up and test the livestream
- Build the rain scene. Load your authorized video and audio in OBS or another compatible encoder. Confirm the loop transitions cleanly, the audio is audible at a consistent level, and the computer can render the chosen resolution and frame rate without excessive load.
- Create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio. Open the Live Control Room and create a stream for encoder software. Copy the stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish or share it. YouTube’s computer livestream tips describe the encoder workflow.
- Run an upload test from the streaming setup. Measure upload from the computer and network path that will carry the broadcast. A test is a snapshot, not a guarantee of sustained service; repeat at different times if you can and leave operating headroom above the selected bitrate.
- Send a private or unlisted test at the intended quality. Use the real rain video and audio, not a placeholder. Preview the feed in YouTube Studio and check YouTube’s stream-health messages as well as the encoder for dropped frames, overload, or connection warnings.
- Start the public stream only after the test is healthy. Watch the encoder and YouTube stream health when it begins. If the bitrate cannot be carried consistently, lower it and test again instead of relying on a higher plan headline.
Plan for interruptions and preserve the replay separately
A 24/7 broadcast depends on more than bandwidth: a computer crash, encoder failure, router problem, power loss, or internet interruption can stop the feed. The cited guidance does not establish that a household connection will remain uninterrupted. Decide what you will do if the stream drops, and check that you can restart the encoder and reconnect to YouTube.
Do not rely on YouTube to save a single 24-hour archive. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends making a local recording backup. If preserving the full programme matters, record locally and consider ending and restarting sessions well before 12 hours rather than expecting one uninterrupted day-long replay. Storage required for a local recording depends on bitrate, duration, and format; there is no single capacity that fits every setup. See YouTube’s archive guidance.

Common problems and what to check
- YouTube will not let you go live: Verify the channel, confirm live access is enabled, and check for a livestreaming restriction within the previous 90 days. First-time activation may take time; consult YouTube’s setup instructions.
- Stream health reports connection trouble or the picture stutters: Check the encoder’s bitrate and dropped-frame status, test upload again from the streaming computer, reduce the bitrate, and repeat the private or unlisted test. A wired link can rule out some local Wi-Fi variation, but not upstream congestion or an outage.
- The encoder struggles or drops frames despite adequate upload: The computer may not be keeping up with the selected resolution, frame rate, or scene. Reduce the output demands and retest; OBS notes that basic system requirements do not guarantee performance for a specific stream.
- The live video is replaced or interrupted: Review YouTube’s copyright notice and identify the matched material. Confirm broadcast rights and, if licensed material is involved, ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting. Do not simply restart with the same disputed asset.
- The stream stopped and the replay is missing: YouTube may not capture streams longer than 12 hours. Use a local recording for preservation and manage session lengths with the archive limit in mind.
