You can schedule a YouTube live event in YouTube Studio, but scheduling the event does not make a YouTube playlist play as a continuous live feed. The scheduled event creates the watch page and lets viewers set reminders; an encoder or cloud streaming service must send the music program to YouTube using the event’s stream URL and key.
For a 24/7 Indian classical music broadcast, plan both the YouTube event and the system that will play and transmit your recordings. Then check rights, test the feed, and decide how to handle stream-session changes and archives before leaving it unattended.
What YouTube scheduling does—and does not do
YouTube Studio lets you schedule a live event. The scheduled event can appear as an upcoming stream, with a watch page where viewers may opt into a reminder. The live program itself comes from an encoder sending audio and video to YouTube; the event schedule is not a playlist scheduler or playback engine.
The official setup documented by YouTube’s live streaming setup guidance and Live Control Room guidance does not describe a native YouTube Studio procedure for automatically looping a playlist as a 24/7 live source. You need a playback-and-encoding method that can keep supplying the program, whether software, dedicated hardware, or a cloud service.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Before scheduling: confirm access and music rights
- Confirm that your channel is able to livestream and that you can access YouTube Studio’s live controls.
- Clear the rights for every recording and composition in the proposed broadcast. “Classical,” “traditional,” or publicly available on YouTube does not by itself mean a specific recording is cleared for rebroadcast.
- Plan the program source and its operating schedule. If you need uninterrupted coverage, account for what happens when an encoder stops or a live session must be restarted.
YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions make the creator responsible for having necessary rights to exploit live content, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. It may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn the creator, or interrupt or terminate the stream if the content continues. Even when you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to prevent interruptions, as explained in YouTube’s live Content ID guidance. For India-specific or repertoire-specific legal questions, get qualified rights advice; these YouTube materials do not settle those questions.
Schedule the YouTube live event
- In YouTube Studio, select Create, then Go Live, then Manage.
- Choose Schedule Stream. Create a new event or reuse prior settings.
- Set the title, description, visibility, and other stream settings for the event. Check the event page as a viewer would see it, including the planned start time and any reminder option.
- Open the scheduled stream or Live Control Room and retrieve the stream URL and stream key. You will enter these in the encoder or streaming service that supplies the program.
These labels reflect the documented YouTube workflow; interface wording can change. The key is a credential: do not publish or share it. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and update the encoder with the replacement.

Connect and test the playlist feed
Choose an encoder or streaming service
Use a system that can play your chosen sequence of recordings and send a continuous audio/video feed to YouTube. YouTube documents software encoder workflows and recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production events; dedicated hardware is an option, not a universal requirement. Choose based on YouTube compatibility, input and output formats, unattended operation, recovery or failover behavior, local recording support, and total operating cost. The official guidance does not establish a best model or compare particular products.
Configure the stream destination
- In the encoder’s streaming settings, enter the YouTube stream URL and stream key from the scheduled event or Live Control Room.
- Load the intended recordings or playlist into the playback system and verify that the audio and video are routed into the encoder.
- Start the encoder and confirm that its preview reaches Live Control Room. Follow the workflow shown there; click Go live if YouTube requires that confirmation.
- Before the public start, test the full path: playlist playback, sound, picture, stream connection, and the event’s visibility. Monitor the preview rather than assuming that a successful encoder start means viewers are receiving the right program.
- If using a backup encoder, test the failover in advance and establish how the backup will take over. YouTube recommends advance setup and testing, preview checks, access checks, audio/video monitoring, and failover testing where a backup encoder is used.
Plan for continuity, not just the scheduled start
A scheduled event handles when the YouTube watch page is presented; it does not keep the source program running. For continuous coverage, decide how your encoder or streaming service will keep playing the playlist and how you will handle a stopped feed or planned session change. YouTube’s documented Studio steps do not provide a native playlist-to-24/7-live automation procedure.

Plan for archives and recordings
YouTube says live streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived and recommends keeping a local archive backup. If a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all, so a single 24-hour session should not be treated as a guaranteed complete archive. See YouTube’s archive live streams guidance.
- If you need a complete recording, make and retain a local recording, then check that the resulting file is usable.
- Consider whether the broadcast should be divided into sessions shorter than 12 hours, while accounting for transitions and the viewing experience.
- Confirm that your chosen encoder or streaming service supports the local recording workflow you need. External storage may help retain local files, but it is only relevant if you are recording locally.
Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | Likely point to check | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No preview appears in Live Control Room | The encoder may not be sending to the scheduled event, or its destination credentials may be wrong. | Check the stream URL and key in the encoder, confirm the encoder is running, and inspect the Live Control Room preview before going live. |
| The event is scheduled but no program plays | The schedule creates the YouTube event; it does not start playlist playback. | Start the playback-and-encoding system and confirm its feed reaches YouTube. |
| The stream is interrupted after music begins | Third-party content detection or rights restrictions may affect the live feed. | Review rights for the specific recordings and compositions. If licensed content is being detected, ask the rights holder about allowlisting your channel through Content ID. |
| The encoder stops or the stream drops | The program source or connection may have failed; a scheduled event alone cannot restore the feed. | Check the encoder or service’s status and recovery process. Test backup or failover arrangements before relying on an unattended broadcast. |
| A full-day archive is missing or incomplete | Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured by YouTube. | Use a local recording and verify the saved file; consider shorter broadcast sessions if an archive is important. |
