To run prerecorded videos as a continuous YouTube livestream with Gyre, upload the video files to Gyre, arrange them in a playlist, connect the YouTube channel, set the broadcast details, review Gyre’s file check, and start or schedule the stream. A video already published on YouTube is not automatically available to Gyre: you need the source file and must upload it to Gyre storage.
What you need before setting up Gyre
- A livestream-enabled YouTube channel. YouTube says the channel must be verified and have no livestream restrictions in the previous 90 days. Streamers must be at least 16. See YouTube’s livestream eligibility and setup guidance.
- Video files you have the right to stream. Gyre’s documented workflow uses prerecorded files uploaded into Gyre storage—not a YouTube watch-page link or a live camera feed. A prior upload does not establish that you hold rights to every element in the video.
- Broadcast information. Prepare a title, description, tags, thumbnail, and privacy choice. Decide whether to use Gyre’s YouTube authorization flow or configure a stream key and RTMP connection manually.
How to stream uploaded videos continuously on YouTube with Gyre
1. Upload the source videos to Gyre
Find the original files on your device or storage and upload them to Gyre. If you only have a video on your YouTube channel, obtain its source file through a method you are authorized to use; Gyre’s help content does not describe adding a YouTube watch-page URL as a source. Allow time for large files to upload before you plan to start.
2. Build and check the playlist
Select the uploaded videos and put them in the order you want viewers to see. Gyre’s guide says the playlist repeats after it finishes. A single video can work if a repeated loop is intentional; a varied playlist can make a long broadcast feel more like a curated channel. Keep the selection coherent, and review it for rights, outdated information, and transitions that make sense when it restarts.
3. Connect the YouTube channel
In Gyre’s documented newer workflow, choose YouTube, sign in with the Google Account that owns the channel, grant permission to manage livestreams, and select the channel. This authorization route is intended to simplify stream and broadcast setup.

- Easy Plug-And-Play: The Brio 101 works with most video calling platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet—no hassle; it just works
Gyre also documents a manual route using a YouTube stream key and RTMP address. Choose that route if you need more control over advanced YouTube Studio settings. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it, include it in a video, or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio.
4. Enter broadcast details and choose a key
Set the title, description, tags, thumbnail, and privacy setting in Gyre. Use an existing stream key or let Gyre create one as offered in its workflow. Confirm the selected channel and broadcast details before continuing, especially if you manage more than one channel or are scheduling a public event.

5. Add the files and resolve Gyre’s file report
Attach the uploaded video or playlist. Gyre says it checks file parameters before launch and reports mismatches. Read the report and resolve any issues it identifies before starting; do not assume every file is suitable just because it plays locally.
Gyre Help Center lists guidance for HD/Full HD files of 1280×720 or 1920×1080, H.264 video, 3072–6144 kbps video bitrate, 128 kbps audio bitrate, and 30 FPS. These are figures from that help article, updated about a year before the information cited here—not guaranteed current YouTube ingest requirements. The same article labels “44.1 kHz” as a frame rate, which is suspect: kHz is an audio sample-rate unit, not a video frame-rate unit. Follow Gyre’s current file report and YouTube’s current encoder guidance rather than treating that label or the older figures as universal requirements.

6. Start or schedule the broadcast
Start the stream in Gyre once the file check is clear. Gyre says its Streams Scheduler can assign a start time, an end time, or both, but availability differs by plan. Check Gyre’s current plan details before relying on a scheduling option.
7. Preview and monitor the live output
YouTube recommends testing an encoder stream, checking the preview before going live, confirming viewers can access the event, and monitoring audio and video quality. These are useful checks for a Gyre broadcast too, though YouTube’s advice does not establish that Gyre has identical controls. Use an unlisted or private test where appropriate, then verify the public event’s visibility and playback from a viewer’s perspective.

Authorization flow or manual stream key?
| Route | Setup | Control and repeat use |
|---|---|---|
| Gyre channel authorization | Sign in to the Google Account, grant livestream-management permission, then choose the channel. | Gyre’s API workflow handles broadcast setup and metadata in its interface; it is presented as the easier route. |
| Manual stream key and RTMP | Handle the key and RTMP connection as part of setup. | Gyre retains this route for creators who need more control over advanced YouTube Studio settings. |
Use authorization for a straightforward setup; choose manual configuration when a specific Studio-level setting requires it. The exact controls available can depend on Gyre’s current interface and YouTube’s account options.

YouTube requires livestreams to follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service and can restrict livestream access. A continuous playlist does not make copyrighted material permissible. Check rights for music, footage, narration, images, and any other included material before streaming; having once uploaded a video does not prove that every component is cleared for ongoing live use. YouTube’s overview describes livestreaming as a way to interact with an audience in real time, but prerecorded content delivered as a live broadcast still has to comply with platform rules.

Monetization is not automatic. YouTube’s live-stream settings include advertising and related controls, but eligibility and ad delivery depend on the channel and stream. Gyre’s recent API article says a third-party monetization setting must be enabled if you expect monetization on API-created streams. Check the current YouTube and Gyre settings for your account; neither a continuous broadcast nor a particular playlist guarantees ads or earnings.
Common setup problems and fixes
- Gyre cannot find a video that is already on YouTube: upload the actual source file into Gyre storage; the documented workflow does not use a watch-page link as the source.
- YouTube connection fails or the channel is unavailable: confirm you signed into the Google Account that owns the channel, granted the requested permission, selected the correct channel, and meet YouTube’s eligibility conditions.
- Gyre reports a file mismatch: use the report to identify the affected file, then normalize or replace it and recheck before launch. Avoid relying on the questionable “44.1 kHz” frame-rate label in the older help article.
- The broadcast is not visible to the intended audience: review the privacy setting and event access, then check playback as a viewer. YouTube recommends confirming viewers can access an encoder stream.
- Audio or video quality is poor: test before the main broadcast, check the source file and Gyre’s validation result, and monitor the live output. The older Gyre format figures are guidance, not a guarantee of current ingest compatibility.
- Expected ads or revenue do not appear: check channel eligibility and monetization settings, including the third-party monetization setting noted for API-created streams; revenue is not assured.
