On desktop, sign in to YouTube, select Create, then Create post. Add text or choose a post format, then select Post. To publish later, use the arrow beside Post, choose Schedule Post, set the date, time, and time zone, and schedule it. In the YouTube mobile app, tap Create, then Post.

Choose the right post format

Image and GIF posts
YouTube allows up to 10 images in a post. Its listed requirements are a maximum of 16 MB per image and JPG, PNG, GIF, or WEBP files. YouTube suggests a 1:1 aspect ratio because images appear square in the feed. The app may offer additional editing options; some Android instructions also describe optional music and a 24-hour expiration control. Those controls are not necessarily available on every device.

Follow the desktop steps to compose a post.

Open the arrow next to Post and select Schedule Post.

Choose the publication date, time, and time zone.

Confirm the schedule. Check the selected time zone before scheduling if you coordinate with viewers in other regions.
The documented scheduling workflow is for desktop. Mobile controls can differ, so use the desktop option when you need to set a specific scheduled date and time.

Where viewers may see a post
A post may appear on your channel’s Posts tab or Home tab shelf, and may be distributed in viewers’ Home or Subscriptions feeds. Image posts may also appear in the Shorts feed, and subscribers may receive a notification. These are possible surfaces, not guaranteed delivery or reach.
Who can use Community posts
YouTube says posts are unavailable to users on supervised accounts and to channels set as Made for Kids. If you cannot find the post option, check the account and channel eligibility before troubleshooting the app.
Plan posts around your videos
YouTube recommends a regular posting schedule that complements video uploads. Possible uses include asking viewers which video they want next, teasing an announcement, sharing behind-the-scenes photos, promoting a collaboration, or publishing members-only posts where channel memberships are available. These are content ideas, not guarantees of engagement.

Limits and troubleshooting

Create post is missing: Confirm you are signed in to the intended channel, then check whether the account is supervised or the channel is set as Made for Kids.

A format or editing control is missing: Options vary by device and app; try the desktop workflow or update the app and check again.

An image will not upload: Check that it is no larger than 16 MB and uses JPG, PNG, GIF, or WEBP. A square image is YouTube’s suggested feed shape.

You cannot publish more posts: YouTube limits how many posts a channel can create in a 24-hour period to protect the community. The platform does not state a fixed number in the cited help guidance.

A scheduled post is not appearing yet: Check its scheduled date, time, and time zone, then verify the post status in YouTube Studio or the channel’s post controls.
