For an existing OBS setup, Restream is the clearest fit if you want to send one feed to a cloud relay and have it distribute that feed to multiple platforms. For a browser-based production with guests and built-in studio controls, consider StreamYard; its multistreaming is on paid plans. The right choice depends on your workflow, destinations, plan limits, and upload capacity—not a universal performance ranking. The comparisons below use vendor and YouTube documentation, not hands-on tests.

Choose a workflow before choosing a service

Multistreaming means sending one live program to more than one platform at the same time. First decide where you want to produce and encode that program:

  • Cloud relay: Send one upstream feed from OBS or another encoder to a service such as Restream, which distributes it to your selected destinations. This avoids creating a separate outgoing feed for every destination on your computer. Restream describes that as a way to avoid additional outbound bandwidth for each platform; that is the vendor’s product description, not an independent performance finding. Restream’s OBS multistreaming guide.
  • Browser studio: Produce in a hosted studio and connect destinations there. This can suit a creator who wants browser-based production and guest tools rather than an existing OBS workflow.
  • Local multi-output encoding: Encode and send separate outputs from your own computer. You retain more direct control, but your machine and internet connection must handle the work and outbound traffic.

YouTube describes local hardware/software encoding as an option for creators who want control and have a powerful computer, and cloud services as a simpler route that sends one high-quality feed for onward distribution. Its guidance says accounts should be active and in good standing on all channels and platforms used. See YouTube’s simulstreaming guidance.

Best-fit tools for YouTube multistreaming

1. Restream: best fit for routing an OBS feed through a cloud relay

Restream is the most direct match if you already produce in OBS and want one encoder output distributed to several destinations. Its documented setup lets you connect OBS through an integration or enter a stream key, then start the broadcast in OBS. Consult the Restream OBS guide for its current connection steps.

Restream’s Help Center article, published February 9, 2026, says its free plan supports two channels. It also describes browser Studio with up to five guests, multichat, analytics, and scheduled Events. Free streams carry Restream branding, described as a watermark and/or a link in the description. The article says paid plans are needed for three or more channels, Facebook Pages or Groups, and custom RTMP destinations; paid features include removing branding, Studio Full HD (1080p), and up to nine guests. The article does not establish an exact current price, so check Restream’s own plan details before subscribing. Restream’s free-plan documentation.

2. StreamYard: best fit for a browser-based studio workflow

StreamYard may fit creators who want to produce in a browser studio rather than route an existing OBS output. Its support documentation says multistreaming is available on paid plans, with destination caps of 3 on Core, 8 on Advanced, and 10 on Business. These are the documented caps; check the current plan page because product limits can change. StreamYard’s multistreaming limits.

Its supported-destinations article lists native support for Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Twitch, Kick, and Vimeo, alongside custom RTMP for platforms that accept an RTMP feed. Destination-specific features vary, and some features may be limited when using custom RTMP. Verify the exact platform, orientation, scheduling, and comment features you need in StreamYard’s supported destinations table.

3. Local encoding: best fit when direct control outweighs convenience

A local encoder approach is not one particular service: you configure an encoder and send the required outputs from your own machine. It may suit a creator with a capable computer who wants to control encoding directly. YouTube’s guide illustrates the bandwidth issue with a 6 Mbps stream plus a 4 Mbps stream, for a 10 Mbps combined target, and advises 15–20 Mbps upload capacity for stability. Those figures are YouTube’s example and recommendation, not a guarantee for every setup. Test the actual connection and watch each platform’s stream-health indicators. No single destination cap applies across all local encoder setups; the limits depend on the software and platforms configured. These are workflow-fit comparisons, not benchmark results. The cited vendor pages explain their own features; they do not establish which option performs best under identical conditions.

Check destinations, accounts, and bandwidth before going live

Confirm destination access and account eligibility

A service’s platform list is not enough by itself. Check whether your plan supports the specific destination type: for example, a Facebook profile may not have the same plan requirements as a Page or Group, and custom RTMP can have fewer platform-specific features than a native connection. Also confirm your accounts are active and in good standing on every platform, as YouTube advises.

  • 【Plug and Play】No driver or external power supply required, true PnP. Once plugged in, the device is identified automatically as a webcam. Detect input and adjust output automatically. Won't occupy CPU, optional audio capture. No freeze with correct setting.
  • 【Compatible with Multiple Systems】suitable for Windows and Mac OS. High speed USB 3.0 technology and superior low latency technology makes it easier for you to transmit live streaming to Twitch, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, OBS, Potplayer and VLC.
  • 【HDMI LOOP-OUT】Based on the high-speed USB 3.0 technology, it can capture one single channel HD HDMI video signal. There is no delay when you are playing game live.
  • 【Support Mic-in for Commentary】Rybozen capture card has microphone input and you can use it to add external commentary when playing a game. Please note: it only accepts 3.5mm TRS standard microphone headset.

Estimate upload capacity for local outputs

For a local multi-output setup, add the bitrate of simultaneous outbound streams to estimate the combined upload target. YouTube’s example is 6 Mbps plus 4 Mbps, or 10 Mbps combined, and it advises 15–20 Mbps upload capacity for stability. Treat this as guidance, not a guarantee: available upload bandwidth can fluctuate, and other activity on your connection can reduce headroom. Run a test using the same resolution and bitrates planned for the live event, then monitor stream health.

Plan for the production features you will use

Compare what you need in the actual show: browser guests, a studio interface, multichat, analytics, scheduling, custom RTMP, or direct OBS integration. A larger destination cap is not automatically useful if your chosen platforms or formats are unsupported, or if the service’s production tools do not fit your workflow.

Set up a cloud relay with OBS

  1. Check the accounts and destinations. Confirm each platform account is active and in good standing, and verify the service plan allows the destination types and count you intend to use.
  2. Add destinations in the relay service. In Restream, connect the accounts you plan to broadcast to. Confirm any plan restriction or branding that applies before scheduling a public stream.
  3. Connect OBS. Use Restream’s OBS integration or enter the stream key provided by the service, following its current OBS setup guide. Treat a stream key like a password; do not publish it or share it with guests.
  4. Configure and test the OBS output. Choose the resolution and bitrate appropriate for your source, connection, and destinations. Start a private or otherwise low-risk test where available, check audio and video on each destination, and review stream health before the scheduled broadcast.
  5. Start and monitor the broadcast. Start the stream from OBS as directed by the relay service, then confirm each destination has received it. Keep an eye on the encoder and destination status rather than assuming one successful connection means every platform is live.

When an always-on YouTube stream is a different need

Multistreaming sends a live program to multiple platforms. If instead you want uploaded recordings to keep a single YouTube channel live around the clock, StreamNeo is a separate YouTube-only option—not a multistream relay. StreamNeo runs uploaded videos or playlists from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on.

Or let it run in the cloud

  1. Upload a recording or build a playlist.
  2. Add your YouTube stream key once.
  3. Go live; StreamNeo loops the uploaded video or playlist from the cloud.

There is no computer to leave running at home. Each slot streams the uploaded quality as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are supported in India, and card checkout is available worldwide. Start a free StreamNeo day.

Common problems and what to check

  • A destination is missing or cannot be connected: Check whether the account type is eligible under your plan, whether that destination requires a paid plan, and whether custom RTMP is needed. Confirm account standing on the platform.
  • Only some destinations appear live: Check each platform’s connection status and stream-health panel individually. A successful encoder connection to a relay does not prove every downstream destination is receiving correctly.
  • A local multi-output stream drops or buffers: Check total outbound bitrate against available upload headroom, reduce output demands if necessary, and test with other household or office network activity minimized. YouTube’s 15–20 Mbps upload guidance is not a guarantee of stability.
  • OBS will not connect to the relay: Recheck the selected integration or stream key against the service’s current instructions. If you regenerate a key, update OBS to match; never expose the key publicly.
  • Platform features do not match across destinations: Compare native connections with custom RTMP support. StreamYard notes that destination capabilities differ and some features may be limited with custom RTMP; check the destination documentation for the feature in question.
  • Free-plan branding appears: Restream’s cited free-plan article says free streams include a watermark and/or link in the description. Confirm the current plan terms if branding is unacceptable for the broadcast.

Cost and decision checklist

Current exact prices are not established by the cited documentation here, so compare the services’ current checkout or plan pages before making a paid commitment. Evaluate the recurring cost against the workflow and limits you need rather than comparing destination counts alone.

  • Choose Restream if you want a documented cloud relay for an existing OBS feed and its destination access and plan boundaries fit.
  • Choose StreamYard if browser-based production is the priority and the paid-plan destination cap and supported-platform details fit your show.
  • Choose local multi-output encoding if you need direct encoding control and your computer, network, and platform setup can support the separate outputs.
  • Choose a separate always-on YouTube service only if your goal is looping uploaded recordings on YouTube, not sending a live program to several platforms.
