Before Big Brother 26, Tucker Des Lauriers was building a life across marketing, acting and modeling. At the time CBS introduced the cast in July 2024, he was described as a marketing and sales executive living in Brooklyn, with Boston listed as his hometown. He had studied television and film at Hofstra University, where he was also recruited to wrestle.
What Tucker did for work before Big Brother 26
Parade’s 2024 cast interview, supplied by CBS, listed Des Lauriers as a marketing and sales executive. That job title sits alongside a creative career he was already pursuing: in a later post-eviction interview, he described himself as an actor, painter, model, cook and marketer. He said he was head chef at Icebound Bars and also handled its marketing. Those are his descriptions; the interview does not lay out when each activity began or provide a complete employment timeline. Parade’s cast interview and his post-eviction interview offer the two snapshots.
Where he lived and what he studied
At the July 2024 cast announcement, Parade identified Boston as Des Lauriers’ hometown and Brooklyn as his residence. Those are cast-era details, not a statement about where he lives now.
He attended Hofstra University, majored in television and film, and graduated in 2017. Hofstra says the university recruited him to wrestle. Des Lauriers explained his choice of major as a desire to learn something unfamiliar: “I wanted to learn something I knew nothing about, because that’s when you can grow the most.” He also recalled carrying a camera wherever he went: “I always had a camera with me, no matter what.” Hofstra’s alumni profile recounts his college years.

Acting and modeling alongside college
Hofstra’s profile says Des Lauriers developed modeling and acting work with an international reach while he was a student. Managing those pursuits alongside classes was challenging. A 2024 Yahoo Entertainment profile also reported that he was signed with Soul Artist and DT Model Management at that time; agency affiliations can change, so that report should not be read as a current representation listing. Yahoo Entertainment’s 2024 profile names the agencies.
Why reality TV was a change of direction
According to Hofstra’s 2025 alumni profile, Des Lauriers was not a reality-TV fan when he joined Big Brother in 2024. He had declined earlier opportunities because he was unsure how reality television might affect his acting career. Accepting a place on season 26 was therefore a turn toward an unscripted format after he had already invested in performance and film.

His family background, in his own account
In the CBS-supplied preseason interview published by Parade, Des Lauriers described growing up as the youngest of three brothers in a loud Italian family. He also spoke about his father coming out as gay and recalled being bullied as well as bullying others. These personal details come from his account in that interview, rather than independent reporting on his family history.
