- Capacity: Compare storage, bandwidth allowances, and concurrent stream limits against the size of your library and the number of channels you plan to run.
- Recovery: Ask what happens if YouTube disconnects the output or the playout service encounters an error. A recovery feature is not the same as a guarantee of uninterrupted service.
- Rights and channel readiness: Stream only material you have the rights to broadcast. Confirm that livestreaming is enabled for your YouTube channel before relying on a scheduled start.
YouTube’s encoder directory lists third-party services, including Gyre and AWS Elemental MediaLive, and notes that listed products are not made by YouTube: YouTube’s encoder guidance. Before choosing a plan, confirm the current mapping of playout features to plans, along with bandwidth, number of streams, output resolution, and playout controls. Its official page presents these capabilities with plan-specific limits. Compare the current number of simultaneous streams, storage, output resolution and frame rate, and availability of playlist and scheduler functions before subscribing: Gyre’s 24/7 streaming information.
4. OneStream Live — documented YouTube 24/7 mode with a run cap
OneStream Live’s help documentation describes a 24/7 feature for prerecorded or cloud-stored videos, but the documented feature is YouTube-only, requires an Enterprise plan, and has a maximum duration of 30 days per run. Its separate scheduling documentation says prerecorded streams can be scheduled up to 60 days ahead. That is an advance scheduling horizon, not permission for one continuous run to last 60 days.

Read the two limits in their separate contexts: OneStream Live’s 24/7 streaming instructions and its guide to going live and scheduling prerecorded streams. If your channel must stay live past the documented 30-day run limit, ask the provider how restart and continuity work before building a schedule around it.
5. AWS Elemental MediaLive — managed broadcast infrastructure, not a confirmed turnkey playlist service
YouTube lists AWS Elemental MediaLive as a verified live video processing option. That makes it a possible technical route for a broadcast workflow, but the available documentation here does not establish an end-to-end prerecorded playlist scheduler or a comparable total cost. Treat it as infrastructure to evaluate with a defined playout design, rather than assuming it works like a ready-made cloud channel service.

For mixed scheduled material and live segments
Castr’s documented playout can combine uploaded files and live streams. Confirm whether its controls let you schedule the sequence you want and verify the plan’s stream and bandwidth limits before committing.
For multiple concurrent feeds or conversion needs
Gyre’s page describes conversion, storage, playlists, and scheduling. Map those features to its current plan limits rather than selecting by the product description alone.
For a long run with a defined restart policy
OneStream Live’s documented 30-day cap means you should plan around the run boundary and ask how restarting affects the YouTube broadcast and viewer experience. A scheduling horizon of up to 60 days does not remove that limit.

For a custom technical broadcast design
MediaLive may be relevant when a technical team is designing broadcast processing infrastructure. Establish the missing playout components, operational responsibility, and total cost for the particular design; the encoder listing alone does not answer those questions.
Set up the channel and schedule responsibly
Enable and test YouTube livestreaming
Check that livestreaming is enabled on the channel and complete any verification or waiting period YouTube presents during setup. A third-party Restream help page says initial YouTube streaming setup can require phone verification and a 24-hour wait, but check the current prompts in YouTube Studio rather than treating a third-party guide as the definitive rule: Restream’s YouTube setup guide.
Prepare the video library
Use files you have permission to broadcast, including the documentary footage, soundtrack, still images, and any embedded third-party material. A platform’s ability to loop or schedule a file does not establish that you hold the necessary rights. Review YouTube’s current policies and your own licenses before creating a continuous stream.
Decide what the viewer should see
Choose a sequence that works when someone joins midway: identify the channel or program clearly, avoid misleading titles or thumbnails, and decide whether the stream should repeat immediately or include a break. Check the playout preview and destination settings before making the broadcast public.

Long-running streams raise a separate question: whether YouTube will create an archive suitable for later viewing. Restream’s help article states that YouTube archives only streams under 12 hours, but that is a third-party statement, not primary YouTube guidance. Verify the current archive behavior directly with YouTube and do not rely on a complete saved replay for a stream that exceeds the stated threshold.
