Which LiveReacting workflow lets you turn off your PC?
LiveReacting’s prerecorded-video, playlist, and 24/7 streaming workflows send content from its servers rather than from your computer. Once the content is uploaded and the stream is running from those servers, you can shut down your PC. LiveReacting describes this distinction in its help documentation.
Live Studio camera production uses your computer as the source of the picture, so it cannot keep sending that camera feed after the computer is turned off. Choose the workflow based on what viewers need to see: an uploaded recording or playlist can be cloud-hosted; a live camera requires an active source device.
Set up a PC-off YouTube stream
- Enable YouTube live streaming. Confirm that live streaming is available on your channel and that the channel has no active restrictions. LiveReacting says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until the scheduled start. YouTube account eligibility can vary; confirm the status in YouTube Studio.
- Prepare content you have rights to stream. Use recordings or music you own or are licensed to broadcast. Uploading a video does not grant permission to rebroadcast it. YouTube may restrict a live stream when it detects copyrighted material, and permissions should cover the actual use and territory where relevant.
- Create the video or playlist project. Add the prerecorded videos in the order you want them played. LiveReacting also documents connecting an already scheduled YouTube event as an option. See its workflow guidance for the current project controls.
- Connect the YouTube channel. Authorize the channel you intend to broadcast to, then verify the destination before proceeding. Avoid sharing the channel’s stream key with anyone who does not need access; treat it like a credential.
- Choose the start, recurrence, and run length. Set the start date and time and select any repeat schedule available to your plan. Check the current plan’s maximum run duration and scheduling features before relying on a long event or recurring schedule. An existing scheduled YouTube event may be connectable, but check that the selected event and the LiveReacting project agree on timing.
- Check the time zone and daylight-saving changes. LiveReacting says schedules use the computer’s time zone. Its recurring runs count a day as 24 hours, which can shift the local start time by an hour when clocks change. Check the displayed schedule around daylight-saving transitions.
- Start the server-hosted stream, then shut down the PC. Once the uploaded video or playlist is running from LiveReacting’s servers, your computer and home internet connection are no longer the source of the broadcast. Do not apply this step to a Live Studio camera stream.

For a one-off program, a scheduled prerecorded stream suits a fixed start and finite run. For repeat programming, a playlist schedule can arrange several recordings in order. If the channel needs to stay live continuously, compare the 24/7 mode with the current plan’s duration and scheduling terms rather than assuming a short event plan will cover it. What can interrupt a stream even if the PC is off?
Turning off your PC removes your home computer and connection as dependencies for a server-hosted broadcast; it does not guarantee uninterrupted service. LiveReacting says server-hosted streams can continue if the user’s computer or home internet goes down and that it reconnects if a platform drops the connection. Those are vendor claims, not independent uptime verification, so monitor the YouTube broadcast when continuity is important.

- Channel not ready: Live streaming may not yet be activated, or the channel may have a restriction. Check YouTube Studio; first-time activation may take up to 24 hours according to LiveReacting.
- Stream does not start at the expected local time: Review the schedule’s computer time zone and recurrence. A daily repeat is treated as 24 hours, so daylight-saving changes can move its local start.
- The stream ends earlier than expected: Compare the planned duration with the current plan limit. A plan’s maximum event length can be much shorter than an all-day or continuous broadcast.
- Content is blocked or interrupted: Check that you have the necessary rights for every recording and music track. Review any notice shown by YouTube and replace or remove content you cannot lawfully stream.
- The camera picture disappears when the PC is off: That is expected for a camera-based Live Studio broadcast. Use a prerecorded video or playlist workflow if the stream must continue without the computer.
- The broadcast disconnects despite cloud hosting: Check the stream status in YouTube and LiveReacting, and use the platform’s available reconnect or restart controls. Cloud hosting removes the PC as a source dependency, but it is not a promise of zero interruptions.
