Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFirst decide which title you want viewers to see. To rename the entire live broadcast, change its YouTube title in the broadcast’s metadata. To show the name of the song, documentary, or segment currently playing inside the video picture, add a changing text overlay to the outgoing video. These are separate tasks: changing the broadcast title does not make it update for each item in a continuous playlist.
Choose between the broadcast title and an on-screen now-playing title
| Method | What changes | Where viewers see it | Use it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Edit broadcast metadata | The title associated with the live YouTube video | YouTube title and metadata surfaces | You need to rename or correct the overall live event |
| Add a title overlay | Text composited into the video feed | Within the stream picture | You want the current song, film, or segment identified on screen |
Google’s YouTube Live Streaming API documentation says, “The broadcast represents exactly one YouTube video.” The API distinguishes that broadcast—the YouTube video viewers watch—from the stream carrying its audio and video. Its title is broadcast-level metadata, not an automatically changing label for each playlist item.
Change the title of the live broadcast
If the title shown on YouTube is wrong or needs to describe the overall event, update the broadcast’s title through the applicable YouTube Studio live-control workflow or through the YouTube Live Streaming API. YouTube’s API lifecycle guide allows broadcast metadata to be updated while a broadcast is active. This updates the live video’s metadata; it does not render text over the picture or identify each video playing in the stream.
Show the current song or segment in the stream picture
Use a title source and an overlay layer
For changing on-screen text, the streaming setup needs a title source and a layer that composites that text into the outgoing video. An OBS Project community resource by Omegadev documents a browser-source “now playing” overlay that can use YouTube chapters and video-description playlists as title inputs. It is a community resource, not an official YouTube feature.

#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Choose the source that matches how the continuous program is organized: chaptered video or a playlist described in the video description are inputs documented by the cited OBS community resource.
- Set up the title source in the streaming software and add it as an overlay layer in the scene sent to YouTube. The overlay must be part of the outgoing video to appear within the picture.
- Preview the scene and check that the text is legible, placed where it does not obscure important content, and changes when the playback reaches the next item.
- Test with the actual playback arrangement before relying on it for a continuous stream. The documented approach does not establish universal compatibility or synchronization for every playlist or streaming setup.
The community resource’s stated last update is September 18, 2025. Check its current compatibility and setup instructions before installing or relying on it; the available documentation does not support a guarantee that it works with every continuous-stream configuration.
Check rights separately from the title display
Naming a song or video in an overlay does not give you permission to broadcast it. YouTube Help explains that live streams may be terminated for copyright or Community Guidelines strikes, and that archived streams may receive Content ID claims. Confirm that you have the necessary rights to the underlying audio and video; an accurate title label does not change those requirements.
