To schedule prerecorded videos as a YouTube Live event with Restream, create a Restream Playlist from uploaded video files, arrange them in playback order, then schedule a YouTube event for that playlist. Restream’s documented workflow assembles files in Restream; its instructions do not establish that it imports a playlist already created on YouTube. The steps and limits below reflect Restream Help Center guidance, including its playlist guide dated July 25, 2026.
What you need before scheduling
- A Restream account with an eligible Upload & Stream add-on tier. Restream’s playlist guide lists Marathon and Media; the tiers and published limits are summarized below. Confirm current availability and pricing on Restream before subscribing.
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled and connected to Restream. Restream says first-time YouTube live activation requires phone verification and a 24-hour wait; account requirements can change, so check YouTube’s current conditions.
- Video files ready to upload. A playlist can contain up to 40 entries and run for up to 24 hours. Duplicate copies of a video count as separate entries.

How to schedule a YouTube Live playlist in Restream
1. Start a playlist
- From the Restream home screen, choose Pre-recorded livestream, then Playlist.
- To continue with a playlist you already made in Restream, select it from the home screen instead.
This workflow uses video files assembled in Restream, not a native YouTube playlist.
2. Add files and set playback order
- Choose videos already uploaded to Restream or upload the files you want to use.
- Select Next.
- Drag and drop the videos into the order they should play. Add more files or a countdown if needed.
- Customize the playlist if you want, then preview it or choose Schedule.
Finalize the files and order before broadcast: Restream says playlist videos cannot be added, removed, or reordered once the playlist is live. Graphics and chat can still be edited during the broadcast.

3. Create the YouTube event
- In the scheduling flow, enter the event title, description, date, and time.
- If you want an advance announcement, enable the advance event post while creating the event. Restream says this option must be selected at creation.
- Upload a thumbnail if desired, and toggle on YouTube as a destination.
- Set channel options such as category, latency, and privacy as needed, then create the event.

4. Check the scheduled event
Find the event or playlist card on the Restream home screen and confirm its scheduled details. Restream says prerecorded files and playlists start automatically at the scheduled time, so you do not have to manually start the Restream playlist. See Restream’s scheduling guide.

A scheduled YouTube event can only be gone live to once, according to Restream’s YouTube event guide. Do not use the real event as a test broadcast.

Restream’s Help Center playlist guide, dated July 25, 2026, describes these Upload & Stream add-on tiers and limits. They are Restream-published specifications and prices, not an independent comparison; confirm current terms before purchase.

Restream also says that scheduled playlist event links can be shared in advance for YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn; other platforms may not permit advance event links. A playlist can be edited or unscheduled from its home-screen card. Back-to-back playlists are separate streams with a two-minute buffer.

YouTube is missing or the event cannot be created
Check that YouTube is enabled for live streaming and that the channel owner authorized the channel connection to Restream. For a first-time enablement, Restream says phone verification and a 24-hour wait are required. Account conditions may change; consult the current YouTube connection guide.

The playlist does not match the intended sequence
Review the order in the playlist editor before scheduling. Restream says contents and order cannot be changed once it is live, so correct the playlist before broadcast rather than expecting to rearrange videos midstream.
The playlist exceeds a limit
Check both total duration and entry count: Restream’s published cap is 24 hours and 40 videos per playlist. Duplicate video entries count toward the 40-entry limit. If necessary, split the material into separate scheduled playlists; Restream says back-to-back playlists have a two-minute buffer.

You need to change or cancel a scheduled playlist
Use the playlist card on the Restream home screen to edit or unschedule it. If you need an advance YouTube announcement, make sure the advance event post was enabled during event creation; Restream says that setting cannot be added afterward through the same creation flow.
