If YouTube Live Redirect is not showing for mobile viewers, first check whether they are watching a vertical live stream or its Shorts-feed version. YouTube lists Live Redirect as supported for horizontal live streams and unavailable for vertical live streams. If the affected viewers are watching a horizontal stream, check the channel’s eligibility, the destination channel’s permission, the source stream’s redirect settings, and the brief reload delay after the source ends.
Why Live Redirect may not appear on mobile
Live Redirect sends viewers to a selected Premiere or another channel’s live stream when the source live stream or Premiere ends. The key mobile distinction is the stream format, not the viewer’s phone brand: YouTube’s feature comparison marks Live Redirect as available for horizontal live streams and unavailable for vertical live streams. Vertical live streams open in a full-screen mobile experience and can be discovered in the Shorts feed. YouTube’s live-streaming format guidance describes that distinction.
So, if affected viewers are watching the vertical version in the Shorts feed, the documented format limitation is the leading explanation. Do not assume they will see the same redirect behavior as viewers watching an eligible horizontal stream.
Troubleshoot the redirect in order
- Identify the format the viewers watched. Confirm whether they were watching a horizontal live stream or a vertical stream in the mobile full-screen or Shorts-feed experience. YouTube lists the redirect feature as unavailable for vertical live streams.
- Check the sender channel’s eligibility. YouTube says a creator sending viewers elsewhere must have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes. These are redirect requirements, separate from the requirements to start a mobile live stream.
- Check permission from the destination channel. A redirect to another channel’s live stream requires that channel to allow it in YouTube Studio. YouTube provides permission choices for channels it subscribes to, all channels, or specifically approved channels. Confirm the destination channel’s current setting rather than assuming permission is enabled.
- Verify the setting on the source item. In YouTube Studio, open Content, then Live. Edit the source video, open Customization, choose Redirect, and select the intended Premiere or another channel’s live stream. Check that the destination selected is the one you intend viewers to reach. See YouTube’s Live Redirect setup guidance.
- Allow the screen to reload. The redirect is not necessarily instantaneous. YouTube advises telling viewers to wait a few seconds after the source ends; its setup guidance describes an expected reload interval of approximately two seconds.
Keep mobile-stream eligibility separate
Mobile live-stream eligibility is not the same as eligibility to send a Live Redirect. YouTube’s mobile requirements include at least 50 subscribers, a verified channel, live streaming enabled, and no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. For channels below 1,000 subscribers, YouTube may limit the audience of a mobile stream; after the channel reaches 1,000 subscribers, removing that limit can take several weeks. These mobile requirements do not replace the separate redirect requirement of more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes. See YouTube’s mobile live-streaming requirements.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
If an eligible horizontal redirect still fails
If the viewers were watching horizontally and the sender, destination permission, source configuration, and reload interval all check out, the official guidance cited here does not identify a particular mobile app version, phone model, or operating-system defect as the cause. The documented issue is a format distinction, not a device-specific diagnosis. Record whether the failure affects horizontal viewers as well as vertical viewers, then consult YouTube support or report the behavior through YouTube’s feedback tools with the source stream and destination details.
