Where can I get free stream alerts and graphics?
Streamlabs: ready-made alert themes
Streamlabs says its desktop software includes hundreds of free alert themes. To browse them, open the Alert Box Library or Themes, choose the Widget Themes tab, select a theme and the widgets you want, then install. Streamlabs says the themes in this library are vetted and that designers have been paid for the rights to them; that is the provider’s description of its own library, not an independent audit of every asset.
Streamlabs also describes its Alert Box as free to use and customize, with free themes, stock images, and sounds. Its optional Ultra upgrade offers a larger premium selection. You can begin with the free choices and decide whether the additional designs are worth paying for.

Custom graphics and GIFs
A ready-made library is the simplest route if you want an alert that works quickly. If you find a GIF or graphic elsewhere, do not assume it is free to reuse because it is publicly viewable or downloadable. Streamlabs’ guide names Giphy, Gifsme, Gif-King, and Gif Bin as possible sources, but says to contact the creator for permission before using a GIF from those sites. The same principle applies to other third-party images: check the item’s terms or obtain permission for your intended use.
Where can I download free alert sounds?
Mixkit
Mixkit offers searchable sound effects downloadable in WAV and MP3. It says its free sound effects may be used in personal and commercial projects, including YouTube and other online video projects, without required attribution. Check the current license and the terms for the specific sound you download; Mixkit notes that different asset types have different licenses.

Pixabay’s sound-effects library lets you search by category and terms such as “notification,” “pop,” “click,” and “whoosh.” Its page reported “Over 130,000+ free sound effects shared by our talented community” when viewed on October 3, 2026. That is a dynamic page count, not a fixed inventory figure.
Pixabay’s license summary says content may be used and modified for free without attribution, subject to restrictions. It prohibits standalone redistribution and says users are responsible for additional third-party rights. The summary is not the legally binding full license, so review the full terms and the individual asset, particularly if the sound includes recognizable branding or is used commercially.

How do I add a provider’s alerts to OBS?
The usual method is to configure the alert with the provider, then display the provider’s hosted overlay URL in OBS as a Browser source. OBS says: “Note: you do NOT require any plugins to use alerts in your stream.”
- Choose an alert provider. Select a service or library that supplies browser-based alerts, and sign in if its setup requires an account.
- Configure the alerts on the provider’s site or app. Choose the alert types you need and select or upload the associated images, animation, and sounds.
- Copy the alert or widget URL. In Streamlabs, open the Alert Box settings and copy its Widget URL.
- Add it in OBS. In the OBS scene where alerts should appear, add a Browser source and paste the provider’s URL into its URL field. Set the source’s size and position to fit your scene.
- Test before going live. Use the provider’s test function and confirm that the alert appears in the right place and its sound is audible in your stream mix.
OBS describes the provider-and-Browser-source workflow in its Stream Layout Tutorial 2: Alerts & Chat Box. Streamlabs gives corresponding instructions in its alert setup guide. Provider interfaces can change, so follow the current on-screen labels if they differ.

Can I use free sounds and graphics on my stream?
Sometimes, but verify the actual permission rather than relying on a “free” label. A useful check is whether the terms cover your platform, commercial use if applicable, editing, attribution, and any redistribution or branding restrictions.
- Streamlabs library: Streamlabs says its included themes are vetted and designers have been paid for rights to them. This is a statement about its library, not a blanket clearance for assets found elsewhere.
- Mixkit: Its free sound-effects license states that personal and commercial use is allowed without required attribution; check the current terms and the specific download.
- Pixabay: Its summary allows free use and modification without attribution but lists restrictions, including standalone redistribution, and places responsibility for additional rights on the user.
- Other GIFs, images, and sounds: Ask the creator or check the applicable license. Easy access to a file is not permission to use it.
Neither a library’s availability nor a license summary should be treated as a guarantee against every third-party rights claim. When a particular asset’s status is unclear, choose another item with clearer terms or get permission.
