To run a 24/7 Tamil lofi stream with OBS, build a scene with your music and visuals, connect OBS to YouTube Live using the stream URL and key, then test the full setup before leaving it on. Continuous broadcasting depends on the computer, network, OBS, YouTube and music rights all holding up; basic OBS compatibility is not a guarantee of uninterrupted operation.
How to stream 24/7 Tamil lofi beats on YouTube with OBS
The workflow is YouTube Live Control Room → stream URL and key → OBS stream settings. Set up and test the channel before you plan to run it continuously: first-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube’s encoder instructions.
1. Confirm YouTube Live access
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Check access ahead of time in YouTube’s live-streaming requirements. If live access is not enabled yet, OBS cannot bypass the restriction.
2. Install OBS and create a starting configuration
Run OBS’s Auto-Configuration Wizard. It considers your intended use, computer resources and network conditions, but its result is a starting point rather than proof your machine can encode continuously. OBS’s system requirements warn: “Having a compatible system does not guarantee that it is capable of streaming or recording using OBS Studio.” The OBS guidance pages cited here are dated August 25, 2021.

3. Build a scene with both picture and sound
- In OBS, create a scene for the broadcast.
- Add an image or video source for the visual and a media or audio source for the Tamil lofi music.
- Play the scene and watch the Audio Mixer meters. Confirm that the intended music is registering, and that the visual appears as expected.
OBS scenes can combine sources such as images, video and media. A mostly static visual may make a modest scene practical to test, but it does not establish a particular computer specification or guarantee stable long-term encoding. See the OBS quick-start guide and OBS overview.
4. Create or select a YouTube stream and connect OBS
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then create or select a stream in Live Control Room.
- Retrieve the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream.
- In OBS, open Settings → Stream. Choose YouTube if it is listed as a service, or enter YouTube’s supplied server URL and stream key in the relevant fields.
- Keep the stream key private: anyone with access to it may be able to send a broadcast to your channel.

5. Choose output settings for your connection and computer
Use a speed test and select a resolution, frame rate and bitrate that your upload connection and encoder can sustain. YouTube’s current H.264 recommendations include these video bitrates:

These are YouTube recommendations, not measured results for your setup. The full YouTube encoder settings and bitrate table varies by codec, resolution and frame rate. For this music-focused stream, 30 fps is a sensible starting point to test, not a Tamil lofi requirement; OBS notes that 60 fps can place more load on a computer.
- Set rate control to CBR.
- Set keyframe interval to 2 seconds; YouTube says not to exceed 4 seconds.
- Use AAC or MP3 audio.
- Use RTMPS as the encrypted ingest option when configuring the server connection.
Check YouTube’s stream-health feedback during a test. A bitrate that exceeds available upload capacity can cause instability; a computer that struggles to encode the scene can cause a poor feed even when the network is adequate.
6. Test before leaving the broadcast running
Run a preflight stream with the same scene, audio, resolution and bitrate you intend to use. Check that the music is audible, the visual is present, OBS is outputting, and YouTube reports healthy stream status. Test a deliberate disconnect or restart if you need to understand how your setup behaves when something fails.

OBS offers automatic reconnect under its Advanced settings. Enable and test it if useful, but it is not an uptime guarantee and does not establish recovery from every power, operating-system, application or network failure. OBS recommends testing before the first live broadcast in its quick-start guide.
What a continuous stream does—and does not—guarantee
One computer and connection must keep working
With OBS, the computer runs the software encoder, and the connection must keep sending the stream to YouTube. OBS’s basic requirements do not identify a validated 24/7 configuration. Compare a computer’s supported operating system, available hardware encoder, sustained encoding performance at your chosen output, network connection and expected reliability; test the actual scene rather than relying on minimum compatibility statements.
Automatic reconnection is not automatic recovery from everything
OBS reconnect can help after some interruptions, but it is not a substitute for testing. A power loss, computer restart, OBS crash or home internet outage can stop the feed, and the cited OBS documentation does not promise that every such failure will recover without intervention.

A single 24-hour stream is not promised a full archive
YouTube’s encoder help says: “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That applies to streams shorter than 12 hours; it does not promise that one continuous 24-hour stream will be archived in full. If you need a replay, plan separately how to create and verify replay files. YouTube says to stop sending content from the encoder to end a stream; see its encoder instructions.

Use music you have the necessary rights to stream and archive. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches; it may replace a stream with a placeholder, and unresolved third-party content can lead to interruption or termination.
If you have a license for third-party music, YouTube advises asking the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license and an allowlist solve different parts of the problem: YouTube warns that a licensed stream can still be interrupted if the channel is not allowlisted. If an archived live stream receives a Content ID claim, YouTube says the claim is made after the stream ends. Read YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance and confirm that your permission covers both live streaming and any archive you intend to keep.
