To keep audio continuous in a YouTube Live stream, configure repetition in the creator-side media playback or encoder workflow—not with YouTube’s viewer Loop button. Then test the actual recording across several loop boundaries and monitor the outgoing preview. A brief silence or click at every repeat usually points to the file or playback loop; breaks that happen unpredictably may indicate a stream or network problem.
Why YouTube’s Loop button does not keep a livestream continuous
YouTube’s Loop videos or playlists on YouTube — Computer instructions describe a viewer repeating a video or playlist on its watch screen. That control does not configure a creator’s live encoder or make a broadcast repeat its source.
In an encoder-fed livestream, the encoder sends the program feed to YouTube. Repetition therefore belongs in the media source or playback workflow feeding that encoder. YouTube’s guidance covers encoder setup and stream monitoring, but does not establish a universal encoder setting or device that guarantees a gapless transition between repetitions.
Test the audio at the loop boundary
A recording can sound fine at the beginning and still have a pause, click, or clipped sound where playback returns from its end to its beginning. Test the exact file and playback setup you intend to broadcast; do not assume a setting that works with one recording will behave identically with another.

- Identify the live source. Confirm that the encoder is repeating the intended media source and that its audio is routed into the outgoing program.
- Listen across multiple repeats. Check the last moments of the recording and the first moments after it restarts. Listen for silence, clicks, abrupt changes in volume, or a cut-off word, note, or beat.
- Preview before making the stream public. YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement representative of the intended stream and previewing in Live Control Room. An unlisted test can help you check the actual encoder-to-YouTube path before a public broadcast.
- Monitor the broadcast itself. Check Live Control Room’s preview and stream-health notices, and listen to the live playback on the kind of device your audience may use. YouTube recommends continuously monitoring audio and video quality.
These checks reveal where to investigate; they cannot guarantee a seamless transition. YouTube does not provide encoder-specific loop instructions in the cited guidance.
Check audio settings for your ingestion protocol
Correct encoding settings help the stream deliver audio in a supported format. They do not remove a gap already present in the recording or caused by the way a media source restarts. YouTube recommends RTMPS for live ingestion and documents these audio settings in Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions and Set up an HLS stream:

| Ingestion protocol | Audio formats listed by YouTube | Recommended stereo settings | Other documented detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| RTMP or RTMPS | AAC or MP3 | 44.1 kHz sample rate; 128 Kbps | For 5.1 audio, YouTube gives 48 kHz and 384 Kbps and says 5.1 over RTMP/RTMPS is supported only for AAC. |
| HLS | AAC, AC3, or EAC3 | 44.1 kHz sample rate; 128 Kbps | YouTube describes HLS as higher latency than RTMP because it sends video segments rather than a continuous stream. Its HLS guidance specifies TS segments, 1–4 second segment duration, and a rolling playlist with no more than five outstanding segments. |
Use the guidance for the protocol you actually selected. Switching from RTMP/RTMPS to HLS is not a documented fix for a source-file loop gap: YouTube describes protocol and segment differences, not gapless looping behavior.
Diagnose a recurring cut, click, or interruption
The timing of the problem is a useful clue, not a definitive diagnosis. Work through the relevant checks in the creator workflow and the stream path.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
- The same silence, click, or missing sound occurs at every repeat: Inspect the recording near its end and beginning, then test the repeated source and its audio routing in the encoder. The consistency suggests checking the media and local playback behavior first.
- The interruption occurs at irregular times: Check Live Control Room’s stream-health information and whether the encoder or network connection is dropping or buffering. YouTube warns that network disruptions can break a stream and recommends continuous monitoring.
- The encoder preview sounds right but YouTube playback does not: Compare the outgoing preview with the delivered stream, check the selected ingestion protocol and audio settings, and test playback on another device or connection. This helps distinguish the source feed from a delivery or playback issue.
- The stream drops or buffers: Check that available upload bandwidth exceeds the stream’s total bitrate with room for variation. YouTube recommends 20% headroom and warns that network disruption can break a stream.
The boundary-versus-network distinction is troubleshooting guidance, not a diagnosis of a particular encoder, file, or connection. YouTube’s recommendations for testing and monitoring are in Streaming tips; its live-stream setup guidance is in YouTube live streaming tips — Computer and Get started with live streaming.

If your aim is to keep uploaded videos looping as a YouTube Live stream without leaving a home computer running, StreamNeo runs the stream from the cloud. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It plays uploaded videos; it does not broadcast a camera feed. A cloud workflow removes the home computer and connection from the playback chain, but you should still check your recording and its loop boundary rather than assume any service can make an imperfect source file gapless.
