Its first day is free, with no card required. Gyre is another purpose-built option: YouTube’s encoder help page describes it as a cloud-based tool for streaming prerecorded videos 24/7. AWS Elemental MediaLive and Google Cloud Live Stream API are more configurable building blocks, but their documented workflows require more engineering and do not establish a turnkey file-loop-to-YouTube service.
Which service fits a continuous prerecorded stream?
The key distinction is whether a service can take uploaded videos, loop them, and send the resulting stream to YouTube as a managed workflow—or whether you must build and operate that pipeline yourself. YouTube receives an encoder stream; a cloud video service is not automatically a prerecorded-video scheduler or a direct YouTube broadcaster.
| Rank | Service | What it is suited to | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | StreamNeo | Hosted YouTube streaming from uploaded videos and playlists, with cloud looping and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. | It streams to YouTube only. Same product on every plan; plan length changes, not quality tiers. |
| 2 | Gyre | A purpose-built hosted workflow: YouTube’s encoder help page calls Gyre a cloud-based tool for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded videos. | The cited YouTube listing does not establish Gyre’s current pricing, service limits, reliability terms, or availability. |
| 3 | AWS Elemental MediaLive | Configurable cloud live encoding for a team prepared to engineer the file loop, controls, and delivery to YouTube. | AWS’s reviewed material describes live video processing and a broader reference architecture; it does not document MediaLive alone as a prerecorded-file loop-to-YouTube product. |
| 4 | Google Cloud Live Stream API | A cloud transcoding pipeline for teams building around Google Cloud. | Its documented outputs are HLS or DASH; the documentation does not establish a file-loop workflow that publishes directly to YouTube without additional components. |
For StreamNeo, the reason it ranks first for this use case is straightforward: it stays on in the cloud, supports uploaded video at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. The details and sign-up option are below.
What to evaluate before choosing
- Native looping: Can you upload a file or playlist and have the service repeat it, or must you create a looping encoder input yourself?
- YouTube handoff: Does the service accept your YouTube stream key and send a compatible encoder stream, preferably over RTMPS?
- Operational work: Who handles the encoder process, restarts, file changes, monitoring, and recovery after a failure?
- Technical fit: Does the service support the resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, and keyframe interval you need?
- Full cost: Consider active channel time, storage, any packaging or delivery charges, the audience-delivery model, and the work needed to operate a custom pipeline. Do not compare unrelated headline rates as though they were equivalent.
- Availability and continuity: Check the service’s regions and published reliability terms directly. The official material reviewed for these options does not establish comparable uptime guarantees.
How the options differ
1. StreamNeo: a managed YouTube workflow for uploaded videos
With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud service loops the content, so your computer, OBS installation, and home internet connection do not need to remain on. Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. Uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, without re-encoding or quality tiers.

2. Gyre: the YouTube-listed specialist
YouTube’s “Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder” help page explicitly lists Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded videos. That makes it a directly relevant service to investigate if you want a hosted workflow. The listing alone does not confirm current pricing, supported limits, scheduling details, reliability commitments, or availability, so verify those points with Gyre before committing.

3. AWS Elemental MediaLive: flexible encoding infrastructure
AWS describes MediaLive as a cloud-based, broadcast-grade video processing service, and YouTube lists it among verified encoders. AWS’s documented live-streaming reference solution combines MediaLive with MediaPackage and MediaConnect in supported regions. This is a fit for a team that wants configurable live-video infrastructure and can supply the missing pieces—such as a process to repeat prerecorded input, control the pipeline, and deliver to YouTube. The reviewed AWS documentation does not establish that MediaLive by itself performs those tasks as a turnkey loop.
4. Google Cloud Live Stream API: a transcoding pipeline
The Live Stream API accepts RTMP or SRT input and produces HLS or DASH outputs. Those are pipeline capabilities, not proof of direct YouTube ingestion or an automatic prerecorded-file loop. A YouTube workflow may need additional components to provide and repeat the input and to hand off a compatible encoder stream. Google recommends SRT when possible for input to its API; that recommendation applies to the input leg into Google Cloud, not necessarily the separate final connection from a pipeline to YouTube.

Set up YouTube before starting the stream
- Enable live streaming early. In YouTube Studio, open Create and choose Go live, then create or schedule a stream. YouTube says enabling a first live stream can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until the day you plan to launch.
- Choose the stream’s operating goal. Decide whether you need one continuous live channel, repeated shorter sessions that can be archived, or both. YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours; do not assume an indefinitely uninterrupted stream will produce one complete archive.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from the YouTube live control room. Keep the key private and enter it only into the encoder or service you intend to use. The encoder sends the video to YouTube using this connection information.
- Configure the service or encoder and start sending content. YouTube’s setup flow requires the encoder stream to be started. Check the live control room for incoming video and audio before sharing the stream with viewers.
Use encoder settings YouTube can accept
YouTube’s encoder guidance permits H.264, H.265 (HEVC), or AV1 video and recommends constant bitrate (CBR). It supports up to 60 frames per second and recommends a two-second keyframe interval; the interval should not exceed four seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS, which encrypts the connection between the encoder and Google’s servers. Confirm that the chosen service can produce compatible output and that its settings match the stream you create in YouTube Studio.
Do not confuse a cloud service’s internal input protocol with its YouTube output. For example, Google Cloud Live Stream API supports RTMP_PUSH and SRT_PUSH inputs. Google’s SRT recommendation concerns the signal going into that API; a separate output or handoff still has to be designed for YouTube. In a multi-stage pipeline, check both connections and their supported settings.

AWS and Google Cloud are not like-for-like service prices
AWS’s current live-streaming reference documentation, accessed in 2026, gives an example of approximately $69.74 for a one-hour SD-540p event with about 1,000 viewers: approximately $2.50 for encoding and packaging plus $67.24 for 791 GB of distribution. This is an example for AWS’s architecture and CloudFront delivery assumptions, not a fee estimate for sending a stream to YouTube. Its audience-distribution portion should not be multiplied into a claimed YouTube-streaming cost.

Google Cloud’s Live Stream API pricing documentation, accessed in 2026, bills by active channel time and configuration, including input and output resolution. It has a ten-minute minimum; after that minimum, active duration rounds up to the nearest minute. That billing model is not a complete estimate for a 24/7 YouTube pipeline, which may require additional components.
No comparable total 24/7 cost is established here for Gyre, and the available AWS, Google Cloud, and hosted-service figures do not describe equivalent workflows. Get a quote or calculate the full architecture around your resolution, schedule, output renditions, delivery destination, and engineering needs rather than treating one event estimate as a monthly price.
Protect the channel and the stream’s archive
- Use video, music, and other material that you have the rights to stream. Replaying a file continuously does not change the copyright obligations associated with its contents.
- Review YouTube’s current live-stream and monetization rules before broadcasting, especially if the channel’s purpose is to repeat material or compile third-party content. Rights to broadcast and eligibility for monetization are separate questions.
- Keep a copy of the original recording and playlist outside the streaming service. An archive is not a substitute for your source files, and YouTube’s automatic archive rule applies to streams under 12 hours.
- Use StreamNeo’s copyright safety checklist to review rights considerations before you go live.
Troubleshoot common setup failures
- You cannot start a live stream: Check whether the channel has completed YouTube’s first-time live enablement. Allow up to 24 hours after enabling it.
- YouTube does not receive video: Confirm that the correct stream URL and current stream key are entered in the encoder, then confirm that the encoder is actually sending. If you changed or reset the key, update the service that uses it.
- The stream connects but playback is unstable or rejected: Check codec, CBR mode, frame rate, keyframe interval, bitrate, and RTMPS compatibility against YouTube’s current encoder guidance and the service’s supported settings.
- A Google Cloud pipeline accepts input but does not appear on YouTube: Verify each pipeline stage separately. An RTMP or SRT input to the Live Stream API is not itself a YouTube stream; confirm that the output is connected to a compatible encoder handoff.
- The stream stops after a long run: Determine whether the cause is the source, encoder, network, cloud channel, or YouTube connection. Decide in advance whether you need one continuous broadcast or separate sessions, since streams under 12 hours are the ones YouTube automatically archives.
- AWS costs are much higher than expected: Separate encoding and packaging from audience delivery, and inspect the assumptions behind the estimate. The cited AWS example includes CloudFront distribution to about 1,000 viewers; that is not equivalent to a YouTube destination.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, the workflow is three steps: upload your video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. It streams uploaded content at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one price per slot, and it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. Your first day is free with no card; the monthly option is $9.99 per month. The service is for YouTube streams, not camera broadcasts. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
