Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Short answer: a video still processing or uploading on your computer is not, by itself, an established cause of a YouTube live stream interruption. Diagnose the live feed separately: check what the encoder is sending, what appears in YouTube Live Control Room, your outgoing connection, and any Studio restrictions. Then let the separate upload finish.
First, separate the upload from the live stream
YouTube says upload duration can vary with file size, bandwidth, upload traffic, and video quality. Its guidance recommends letting an upload finish when it is taking a long time, and says a previous upload can be resumed for up to 24 hours by selecting the same file. That upload guidance does not establish that an upload still processing locally interrupts a live stream. YouTube Help: Video stuck during upload.
“Processing locally” can mean different things: an encoder rendering a file, a file transfer, or work in another application. Without knowing the encoder, operating system, exact error, CPU and network readings, and whether the local recording and YouTube preview remain healthy, there is no sound basis for assigning the interruption to that activity. Treat the upload and the live feed as separate problems unless diagnostics show they share a bottleneck.
Find where the live feed fails
Compare the encoder’s output with the preview and stream-health information in Live Control Room. This split helps determine whether to investigate the production setup or the route to YouTube. YouTube recommends monitoring the encoder and dashboard and checking the local archive. YouTube Help: YouTube live streaming tips – Computer and YouTube Help: Troubleshoot your YouTube live stream.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- The encoder output is already bad or stops: investigate sources, encoder errors, CPU load, and the local archive before blaming YouTube or the upload.
- The encoder output looks healthy, but the preview or live stream drops: investigate the outbound connection, configured bitrate, stream key, and YouTube’s stream-health messages.
- The preview is present but the stream is stopped or restricted: check Studio notifications and copyright status as well as the technical setup.
Troubleshoot in this order
- Check the encoder first. Confirm that its audio and video sources are still active and that its output is continuous. Note any encoder error and check CPU load. If the encoder records a local archive, verify that the file is intact and continuing to grow. If the output itself is faulty, inspect the routed sources and encoder configuration, then update the encoder if appropriate. YouTube recommends checking these signals before changing encoders.
- Check Live Control Room. Open the scheduled event and look for a preview and stream-health warnings. For an encoder startup error, YouTube recommends generating a new stream key in Live Control Room and updating the encoder with it. Do not expose the key: anyone with it may be able to send video to your stream.
- Confirm the scheduled-stream connection. Use that event’s stream URL and key in the encoder. Wait for the preview to appear in Live Control Room, then start the scheduled stream. Preparing the encoder in advance and checking the preview can reveal a connection problem before you go live. YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Test the outgoing connection. If the encoder output is healthy but YouTube reports interruptions, check whether your available upload bandwidth can carry the configured stream bitrate. YouTube recommends leaving 20% bandwidth headroom; this is YouTube Help guidance, not a guarantee that any connection will remain stable. A disruption in connectivity can break a stream. If practical, compare the current connection with wired Ethernet as a diagnostic, and contact your ISP if tests indicate an upload or stability problem. Changing a cable alone is not a guaranteed fix. YouTube Help: YouTube live streaming tips – Computer.
- Check for policy interruptions. In YouTube Studio, review copyright notifications and channel restrictions. YouTube says detected third-party content can temporarily interrupt or terminate a live stream; its guidance also recommends checking Studio for strikes if a stream stops. A technically healthy encoder does not rule out a policy cause. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams.
- Handle the upload separately. Allow the video upload to complete. If a prior upload stopped, YouTube says it may be resumed for up to 24 hours by selecting the same file. That advice addresses the upload, not the cause of the live interruption. YouTube Help: Video stuck during upload.
Match the symptom to the next check
| What you observe | What to check next |
|---|---|
| Encoder picture or sound is faulty | Sources and routing, encoder errors, CPU load, and whether the local archive is intact and growing. |
| Encoder looks normal; YouTube preview is missing or stream drops | Live Control Room stream health, event stream URL and key, and outbound upload capacity relative to bitrate. |
| Encoder startup error | Refresh the stream key in Live Control Room and replace the key in the encoder configuration. |
| Preview is present, but YouTube stops or restricts the stream | YouTube Studio copyright notices, strikes, and channel restrictions. |
| Video upload remains incomplete | Let it finish; if the upload was interrupted, try resuming it by selecting the same file within YouTube’s stated 24-hour window. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep a YouTube channel playing uploaded videos continuously, StreamNeo is a cloud option rather than a fix for a one-time encoder fault. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It offers one flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and a first day free with no card. The monthly option is $9.99 per month.
